||Καὶ τῇ Νωεμιν ἀνὴρ γνώριμος τῷ ἀνδρὶ αὐτῆς· ὁ δὲ ἀνὴρ δυνατὸς ἰσχύι ἐκ τῆς συγγενείας Αβιμελεχ, καὶ ὄνομα αὐτῷ Βοος.
||And Noemin had [a friend] an acquaintance of her husband and the man [was] a mighty man of the kindred of Elimelech and his name [was] Booz.

||Now Na'omi had a kinsman of her husband's, a man of wealth, of the family of Elim'elech, whose name was Bo'az.||וּלְנָעֳמִי [כ= מְיֻדָּע] [ק= מֹודַע] לְאִישָׁהּ אִישׁ גִּבֹּור חַיִל מִמִּשְׁפַּחַת אֱלִימֶלֶךְ וּשְׁמֹו בֹּעַז׃
||καὶ εἶπεν Ρουθ ἡ Μωαβῖτις πρὸς Νωεμιν Πορευθῶ δὴ εἰς ἀγρὸν καὶ συνάξω ἐν τοῖς στάχυσιν κατόπισθεν οὗ ἐὰν εὕρω χάριν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς αὐτοῦ. εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῇ Πορεύου, θύγατερ.
||And Ruth the Moabitess said to Noemin Let me go now to the field and I will glean among the ears behind the man with whomsoever I shall find favour: and she said to her Go daughter.
||And Ruth the Moabitess said to Na'omi, "Let me go to the field, and glean among the ears of grain after him in whose sight I shall find favor." And she said to her, "Go, my daughter."||וַתֹּאמֶר רוּת הַמֹּואֲבִיָּה אֶל־נָעֳמִי אֵלְכָה־נָּא הַשָּׂדֶה וַאֲלַקֳטָה בַשִּׁבֳּלִים אַחַר אֲשֶׁר אֶמְצָא־חֵן בְּעֵינָיו וַתֹּאמֶר לָהּ לְכִי בִתִּי׃
||καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ συνέλεξεν ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ κατόπισθεν τῶν θεριζόντων· καὶ περιέπεσεν περιπτώματι τῇ μερίδι τοῦ ἀγροῦ Βοος τοῦ ἐκ συγγενείας Αβιμελεχ.
||And she went; and came and gleaned in the field behind the reapers; and she happened by chance to come on a portion of the land of Booz of the kindred of Elimelech.
||So she set forth and went and gleaned in the field after the reapers; and she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Bo'az, who was of the family of Elim'elech.||וַתֵּלֶךְ וַתָּבֹוא וַתְּלַקֵּט בַּשָּׂדֶה אַחֲרֵי הַקֹּצְרִים וַיִּקֶר מִקְרֶהָ חֶלְקַת הַשָּׂדֶה לְבֹעַז אֲשֶׁר מִמִּשְׁפַּחַת אֱלִימֶלֶךְ׃
||καὶ ἰδοὺ Βοος ἦλθεν ἐκ Βαιθλεεμ καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς θερίζουσιν Κύριος μεθ' ὑμῶν· καὶ εἶπον αὐτῷ Εὐλογήσαι σε κύριος.
||And behold Booz came from Bethleem and said to the reapers The Lord [be] with you: and they said to him
||And behold, Bo'az came from Bethlehem; and he said to the reapers, "The LORD be with you!" And they answered, "The LORD bless you."||וְהִנֵּה־בֹעַז בָּא מִבֵּית לֶחֶם וַיֹּאמֶר לַקֹּוצְרִים יְהוָה עִםָּכֶם וַיֹּאמְרוּ לֹו יְבָרֶךְךָ יְהוָה׃
||καὶ εἶπεν Βοος τῷ παιδαρίῳ αὐτοῦ τῷ ἐφεστῶτι ἐπὶ τοὺς θερίζοντας Τίνος ἡ νεᾶνις αὕτη;
||And Booz said to his servant who was set over the reapers Whose [is] this damsel?
||Then Bo'az said to his servant who was in charge of the reapers, "Whose maiden is this?"||וַיֹּאמֶר בֹּעַז לְנַעֲרֹו הַנִּצָּב עַל־הַקֹּוצְרִים לְמִי הַנַּעֲרָה הַזֹּאת׃
||καὶ ἀπεκρίθη τὸ παιδάριον τὸ ἐφεστὸς ἐπὶ τοὺς θερίζοντας καὶ εἶπεν Ἡ παῖς ἡ Μωαβῖτίς ἐστιν ἡ ἀποστραφεῖσα μετὰ Νωεμιν ἐξ ἀγροῦ Μωαβ
||And his servant who was set over the reapers answered and said It is the Moabitish damsel who returned with Noemin out of the land of Moab.
||And the servant who was in charge of the reapers answered, "It is the Moabite maiden, who came back with Na'omi from the country of Moab.||וַיַּעַן הַנַּעַר הַנִּצָּב עַל־הַקֹּוצְרִים וַיֹּאמַר נַעֲרָה מֹואֲבִיָּה הִיא הַשָּׁבָה עִם־נָעֳמִי מִשְּׂדֵה מֹואָב׃
||καὶ εἶπεν Συλλέξω δὴ καὶ συνάξω ἐν τοῖς δράγμασιν ὄπισθεν τῶν θεριζόντων· καὶ ἦλθεν καὶ ἔστη ἀπὸ πρωίθεν καὶ ἕως ἑσπέρας, οὐ κατέπαυσεν ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ μικρόν.
||And she said I pray you let me glean and gather among the sheaves after the reapers: and she came and stood from morning till evening and rested not [even] a little in the field.
||She said, 'Pray, let me glean and gather among the sheaves after the reapers.' So she came, and she has continued from early morning until now, without resting even for a moment."||וַתֹּאמֶר אֲלַקֳטָה־נָּא וְאָסַפְתִּי בָעֳמָרִים אַחֲרֵי הַקֹּוצְרִים וַתָּבֹוא וַתַּעֲמֹוד מֵאָז הַבֹּקֶר וְעַד־עַתָּה זֶה שִׁבְתָּהּ הַבַּיִת מְעָט׃
||καὶ εἶπεν Βοος πρὸς Ρουθ Οὐκ ἤκουσας, θύγατερ; μὴ πορευθῇς ἐν ἀγρῷ συλλέξαι ἑτέρῳ, καὶ σὺ οὐ πορεύσῃ ἐντεῦθεν· ὧδε κολλήθητι μετὰ τῶν κορασίων μου·
||And Booz said to Ruth Hast thou not heard [my] daughter? go not to glean in another field; and depart not thou hence join thyself here with my damsels.
||Then Bo'az said to Ruth, "Now, listen, my daughter, do not go to glean in another field or leave this one, but keep close to my maidens.||וַיֹּאמֶר בֹּעַז אֶל־רוּת הֲלֹוא שָׁמַעַתְּ בִּתִּי אַל־תֵּלְכִי לִלְקֹט בְּשָׂדֶה אַחֵר וְגַם לֹא תַעֲבוּרִי מִזֶּה וְכֹה תִדְבָּקִין עִם־נַעֲרֹתָי׃
||οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου εἰς τὸν ἀγρόν, οὗ ἐὰν θερίζωσιν, καὶ πορεύσῃ κατόπισθεν αὐτῶν· ἰδοὺ ἐνετειλάμην τοῖς παιδαρίοις τοῦ μὴ ἅψασθαί σου· καὶ ὅ τι διψήσεις, καὶ πορευθήσῃ εἰς τὰ σκεύη καὶ πίεσαι ὅθεν ἂν ὑδρεύωνται τὰ παιδάρια.
||[Let] thine eyes [be] on the field where [my men] shall reap and thou shalt go after them: behold I have charged the young men not to touch thee: and when you shalt thirst then thou shalt go to the vessels and drink of that which the young men shall have
||Let your eyes be upon the field which they are reaping, and go after them. Have I not charged the young men not to molest you? And when you are thirsty, go to the vessels and drink what the young men have drawn."||עֵינַיִךְ בַּשָּׂדֶה אֲשֶׁר־יִקְצֹרוּן וְהָלַכְתְּ אַחֲרֵיהֶן הֲלֹוא צִוִּיתִי אֶת־הַנְּעָרִים לְבִלְתִּי נָגְעֵךְ וְצָמִת וְהָלַכְתְּ אֶל־הַכֵּלִים וְשָׁתִית מֵאֲשֶׁר יִשְׁאֲבוּן הַנְּעָרִים׃
||καὶ ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτῆς καὶ προσεκύνησεν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν Τί ὅτι εὗρον χάριν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς σου τοῦ ἐπιγνῶναί με; καὶ ἐγώ εἰμι ξένη.
||And she fell upon her face and did reverence to the ground and said to him How is it that I have found grace in thine eyes that thou shouldest take notice of me
||Then she fell on her face, bowing to the ground, and said to him, "Why have I found favor in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, when I am a foreigner?"||וַתִּפֹּל עַל־פָּנֶיהָ וַתִּשְׁתַּחוּ אָרְצָה וַתֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו מַדּוּעַ מָצָאתִי חֵן בְּעֵינֶיךָ לְהַכִּירֵנִי וְאָנֹכִי נָכְרִיָּה׃
||καὶ ἀπεκρίθη Βοος καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Ἀπαγγελίᾳ ἀπηγγέλη μοι ὅσα πεποίηκας μετὰ τῆς πενθερᾶς σου μετὰ τὸ ἀποθανεῖν τὸν ἄνδρα σου καὶ πῶς κατέλιπες τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ τὴν μητέρα σου καὶ τὴν γῆν γενέσεώς σου καὶ ἐπορεύθης πρὸς λαὸν ὃν οὐκ ᾔδεις ἐχθὲς καὶ τρίτης·
||And Booz answered and said to her It has fully been told me how thou hast dealt with thy mother-in-law after the death of thy husband; and how thou didst leave thy father and thy mother and the land of thy birth and camest to a people whom thou knewest no
||But Bo'az answered her, "All that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband has been fully told me, and how you left your father and mother and your native land and came to a people that you did not know before.||וַיַּעַן בֹּעַז וַיֹּאמֶר לָהּ הֻגֵּד הֻגַּד לִי כֹּל אֲשֶׁר־עָשִׂית אֶת־חֲמֹותֵךְ אַחֲרֵי מֹות אִישֵׁךְ וַתַּעַזְבִי אָבִיךְ וְאִמֵּךְ וְאֶרֶץ מֹולַדְתֵּךְ וַתֵּלְכִי אֶל־עַם אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יָדַעַתְּ תְּמֹול שִׁלְשֹׁום׃
||ἀποτείσαι κύριος τὴν ἐργασίαν σου, καὶ γένοιτο ὁ μισθός σου πλήρης παρὰ κυρίου θεοῦ Ισραηλ, πρὸς ὃν ἦλθες πεποιθέναι ὑπὸ τὰς πτέρυγας αὐτοῦ.
||The Lord recompense thy work; may a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel to whom thou hast come to trust under his wings.
||The LORD recompense you for what you have done, and a full reward be given you by the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge!"||יְשַׁלֵּם יְהוָה פָּעֳלֵךְ וּתְהִי מַשְׂכֻּרְתֵּךְ שְׁלֵמָה מֵעִם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר־בָּאת לַחֲסֹות תַּחַת־כְּנָפָיו׃
||ἡ δὲ εἶπεν Εὕροιμι χάριν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς σου, κύριε, ὅτι παρεκάλεσάς με καὶ ὅτι ἐλάλησας ἐπὶ καρδίαν τῆς δούλης σου, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἔσομαι ὡς μία τῶν παιδισκῶν σου.
||And she said Let me find grace in thy sight my lord because thou hast comforted me and because thou hast spoken kindly to thy handmaid
||Then she said, "You are most gracious to me, my lord, for you have comforted me and spoken kindly to your maidservant, though I am not one of your maidservants."||וַתֹּאמֶר אֶמְצָא־חֵן בְּעֵינֶיךָ אֲדֹנִי כִּי נִחַמְתָּנִי וְכִי דִבַּרְתָּ עַל־לֵב שִׁפְחָתֶךָ וְאָנֹכִי לֹא אֶהְיֶה כְּאַחַת שִׁפְחֹתֶיךָ׃
||καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Βοος Ἤδη ὥρᾳ τοῦ φαγεῖν πρόσελθε ὧδε καὶ φάγεσαι τῶν ἄρτων καὶ βάψεις τὸν ψωμόν σου ἐν τῷ ὄξει. καὶ ἐκάθισεν Ρουθ ἐκ πλαγίων τῶν θεριζόντων, καὶ ἐβούνισεν αὐτῇ Βοος ἄλφιτον, καὶ ἔφαγεν καὶ ἐνεπλήσθη καὶ κατέλιπεν.
||And Booz said to her Now [it is] time to eat; come hither and thou shalt eat of the bread and thou shalt dip thy morsel in the vinegar: and Ruth sat by the side of the reapers: and Booz handed her meal and she ate
||And at mealtime Bo'az said to her, "Come here, and eat some bread, and dip your morsel in the wine." So she sat beside the reapers, and he passed to her parched grain; and she ate until she was satisfied, and she had some left over.||וַיֹּאמֶר לָה בֹעַז לְעֵת הָאֹכֶל גֹּשִׁי הֲלֹם וְאָכַלְתְּ מִן־הַלֶּחֶם וְטָבַלְתְּ פִּתֵּךְ בַּחֹמֶץ וַתֵּשֶׁב מִצַּד הַקֹּוצְרִים וַיִּצְבָּט־לָהּ קָלִי וַתֹּאכַל וַתִּשְׂבַּע וַתֹּתַר׃
||καὶ ἀνέστη τοῦ συλλέγειν, καὶ ἐνετείλατο Βοος τοῖς παιδαρίοις αὐτοῦ λέγων Καί γε ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν δραγμάτων συλλεγέτω, καὶ μὴ καταισχύνητε αὐτήν·
||And she rose up to glean; and Booz charged his young men saying Let her even glean among the sheaves and reproach her not.
||When she rose to glean, Bo'az instructed his young men, saying, "Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not reproach her.||וַתָּקָם לְלַקֵּט וַיְצַו בֹּעַז אֶת־נְעָרָיו לֵאמֹר גַּם בֵּין הָעֳמָרִים תְּלַקֵּט וְלֹא תַכְלִימוּהָ׃
||καὶ βαστάζοντες βαστάξατε αὐτῇ καί γε παραβάλλοντες παραβαλεῖτε αὐτῇ ἐκ τῶν βεβουνισμένων, καὶ ἄφετε καὶ συλλέξει, καὶ οὐκ ἐπιτιμήσετε αὐτῇ.
||And do ye by all means carry it for her and ye shall surely let fall for her some of that which is heaped up; and let her eat and glean and rebuke her not.
||And also pull out some from the bundles for her, and leave it for her to glean, and do not rebuke her."||וְגַם שֹׁל־תָּשֹׁלּוּ לָהּ מִן־הַצְּבָתִים וַעֲזַבְתֶּם וְלִקְּטָה וְלֹא תִגְעֲרוּ־בָהּ׃
||καὶ συνέλεξεν ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ ἕως ἑσπέρας· καὶ ἐρράβδισεν ἃ συνέλεξεν, καὶ ἐγενήθη ὡς οιφι κριθῶν.
||So she gleaned in the field till evening and beat out that she had gleaned and it was about an ephah of barely.
||So she gleaned in the field until evening; then she beat out what she had gleaned, and it was about an ephah of barley.||וַתְּלַקֵּט בַּשָּׂדֶה עַד־הָעָרֶב וַתַּחְבֹּט אֵת אֲשֶׁר־לִקֵּטָה וַיְהִי כְּאֵיפָה שְׂעֹרִים׃
||καὶ ἦρεν καὶ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὴν πόλιν, καὶ εἶδεν ἡ πενθερὰ αὐτῆς ἃ συνέλεξεν, καὶ ἐξενέγκασα Ρουθ ἔδωκεν αὐτῇ ἃ κατέλιπεν ἐξ ὧν ἐνεπλήσθη.
||And she took [it] up and went into the city: and her mother-in-law saw what she had gleaned and Ruth brought forth and gave to her the food which she had left from what she had been satisfied with.
||And she took it up and went into the city; she showed her mother-in-law what she had gleaned, and she also brought out and gave her what food she had left over after being satisfied.||וַתִּשָּׂא וַתָּבֹוא הָעִיר וַתֵּרֶא חֲמֹותָהּ אֵת אֲשֶׁר־לִקֵּטָה וַתֹּוצֵא וַתִּתֶּן־לָהּ אֵת אֲשֶׁר־הֹותִרָה מִשָּׂבְעָהּ׃
||καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ ἡ πενθερὰ αὐτῆς Ποῦ συνέλεξας σήμερον καὶ ποῦ ἐποίησας; εἴη ὁ ἐπιγνούς σε εὐλογημένος. καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν Ρουθ τῇ πενθερᾷ αὐτῆς ποῦ ἐποίησεν, καὶ εἶπεν Τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ ἀνδρός, μεθ' οὗ ἐποίησα σήμερον, Βοος.
||And her mother-in-law said to her Where hast thou gleaned to-day and where hast thou wrought? blessed be he that took notice of thee. And Ruth told her mother-in-law where she [had] wrought and said The name of the man with whom I wrought to-day [is] Booz
||And her mother-in-law said to her, "Where did you glean today? And where have you worked? Blessed be the man who took notice of you." So she told her mother-in-law with whom she had worked, and said, "The man's name with whom I worked today is Bo'az."||וַתֹּאמֶר לָהּ חֲמֹותָהּ אֵיפֹה לִקַּטְתְּ הַיֹּום וְאָנָה עָשִׂית יְהִי מַכִּירֵךְ בָּרוּךְ וַתַּגֵּד לַחֲמֹותָהּ אֵת אֲשֶׁר־עָשְׂתָה עִמֹּו וַתֹּאמֶר שֵׁם הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂיתִי עִמֹּו הַיֹּום בֹּעַז׃
||καὶ εἶπεν Νωεμιν τῇ νύμφῃ αὐτῆς Εὐλογητός ἐστιν τῷ κυρίῳ, ὅτι οὐκ ἐγκατέλιπεν τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ μετὰ τῶν ζώντων καὶ μετὰ τῶν τεθνηκότων. καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Νωεμιν Ἑγγίζει ἡμῖν ὁ ἀνὴρ, ἐκ τῶν ἀγχιστευόντων ἡμᾶς ἐστιν.
||And Noemin said to her daughter-in-law Blessed is he of the Lord because he has not failed in his mercy with the living and with the dead: and Noemin said to her The man is near akin to us he is one of our relations.
||And Na'omi said to her daughter-in-law, "Blessed be he by the LORD, whose kindness has not forsaken the living or the dead!" Na'omi also said to her, "The man is a relative of ours, one of our nearest kin."||וַתֹּאמֶר נָעֳמִי לְכַלָּתָהּ בָּרוּךְ הוּא לַיהוָה אֲשֶׁר לֹא־עָזַב חַסְדֹּו אֶת־הַחַיִּים וְאֶת־הַמֵּתִים וַתֹּאמֶר לָהּ נָעֳמִי קָרֹוב לָנוּ הָאִישׁ מִגֹּאֲלֵנוּ הוּא׃
||καὶ εἶπεν Ρουθ πρὸς τὴν πενθερὰν αὐτῆς Καί γε ὅτι εἶπεν πρός με Μετὰ τῶν παιδαρίων μου προσκολλήθητι, ἕως ἂν τελέσωσιν ὅλον τὸν ἀμητόν, ὃς ὑπάρχει μοι.
||And Ruth said to her mother-in-law Yea he said also to me Keep close to my damsels until the men shall have finished all my reaping.
||And Ruth the Moabitess said, "Besides, he said to me, 'You shall keep close by my servants, till they have finished all my harvest.'"||וַתֹּאמֶר רוּת הַמֹּואֲבִיָּה גַּם כִּי־אָמַר אֵלַי עִם־הַנְּעָרִים אֲשֶׁר־לִי תִּדְבָּקִין עַד אִם־כִּלּוּ אֵת כָּל־הַקָּצִיר אֲשֶׁר־לִי׃
||καὶ εἶπεν Νωεμιν πρὸς Ρουθ τὴν νύμφην αὐτῆς Ἀγαθόν, θύγατερ, ὅτι ἐπορεύθης μετὰ τῶν κορασίων αὐτοῦ, καὶ οὐκ ἀπαντήσονταί σοι ἐν ἀγρῷ ἑτέρῳ.
||And Noemin said to Ruth her daughter-in-law [It is] well daughter that thou wentest out with his damsels; thus they shall not meet thee in another field.
||And Na'omi said to Ruth, her daughter-in-law, "It is well, my daughter, that you go out with his maidens, lest in another field you be molested."||וַתֹּאמֶר נָעֳמִי אֶל־רוּת כַּלָּתָהּ טֹוב בִּתִּי כִּי תֵצְאִי עִם־נַעֲרֹותָיו וְלֹא יִפְגְּעוּ־בָךְ בְּשָׂדֶה אַחֵר׃
||καὶ προσεκολλήθη Ρουθ τοῖς κορασίοις Βοος συλλέγειν ἕως οὗ συνετέλεσεν τὸν θερισμὸν τῶν κριθῶν καὶ τῶν πυρῶν. καὶ ἐκάθισεν μετὰ τῆς πενθερᾶς αὐτῆς.
||And Ruth joined herself to the damsels of Booz to glean until they had finished the barley-harvest and the wheat-harvest.
||So she kept close to the maidens of Bo'az, gleaning until the end of the barley and wheat harvests; and she lived with her mother-in-law.||וַתִּדְבַּק בְּנַעֲרֹות בֹּעַז לְלַקֵּט עַד־כְּלֹות קְצִיר־הַשְּׂעֹרִים וּקְצִיר הַחִטִּים וַתֵּשֶׁב אֶת־חֲמֹותָהּ׃
