And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, | The lampstand. Nu.8.1-4 | Now the LORD said to Moses, | וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃ |

| 2 | Λάλησον τῷ Ααρων καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτόν Ὅταν ἐπιτιθῇς τοὺς λύχνους, ἐκ μέρους κατὰ πρόσωπον τῆς λυχνίας φωτιοῦσιν οἱ ἑπτὰ λύχνοι. |
Speak to Aaron, and you shall say to him, Whenever you shall set the lamps in order, the seven lamps shall give light opposite the candlestick. | | "Say to Aaron, When you set up the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lampstand." | דַּבֵּר אֶל־אַהֲרֹן וְאָמַרְתָּ אֵלָיו בְּהַעֲלֹתְךָ אֶת־הַנֵּרֹת אֶל־מוּל פְּנֵי הַמְּנֹורָה יָאִירוּ שִׁבְעַת הַנֵּרֹות׃ |

| 3 | καὶ ἐποίησεν οὕτως Ααρων· ἐκ τοῦ ἑνὸς μέρους κατὰ πρόσωπον τῆς λυχνίας ἐξῆψεν τοὺς λύχνους αὐτῆς, καθὰ συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ. |
And Aaron did so: on one side opposite the candlestick he lighted its lamps, as the Lord appointed Moses. | | And Aaron did so; he set up its lamps to give light in front of the lampstand, as the LORD commanded Moses. | וַיַּעַשׂ כֵּן אַהֲרֹן אֶל־מוּל פְּנֵי הַמְּנֹורָה הֶעֱלָה נֵרֹתֶיהָ כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃ |

| 4 | καὶ αὕτη ἡ κατασκευὴ τῆς λυχνίας· στερεὰ χρυσῆ, ὁ καυλὸς αὐτῆς καὶ τὰ κρίνα αὐτῆς, στερεὰ ὅλη· κατὰ τὸ εἶδος, ὃ ἔδειξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ, οὕτως ἐποίησεν τὴν λυχνίαν. |
And this [is] the construction of the candlestick: [it is] solid, golden-- its stem, and its lilies-- all solid: according to the pattern which the Lord shewed Moses, so he made the candlestick. | | And this was the workmanship of the lampstand, hammered work of gold; from its base to its flowers, it was hammered work; according to the pattern which the LORD had shown Moses, so he made the lampstand. | וְזֶה מַעֲשֵׂה הַמְּנֹרָה מִקְשָׁה זָהָב עַד־יְרֵכָהּ עַד־פִּרְחָהּ מִקְשָׁה הִוא כַּמַּרְאֶה אֲשֶׁר הֶרְאָה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה כֵּן עָשָׂה אֶת־הַמְּנֹרָה׃ ף |

| 5 | Καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων |
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, | Purification of the Levites. Nu.8.5-26 | And the LORD said to Moses, | וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃ |

| 6 | Λαβὲ τοὺς Λευίτας ἐκ μέσου υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ ἀφαγνιεῖς αὐτούς. |
Take the Levites out of the midst of the children of Israel, and you shall purify them. | | "Take the Levites from among the people of Israel, and cleanse them. | קַח אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם מִתֹּוךְ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְטִהַרְתָּ אֹתָם׃ |

| 7 | καὶ οὕτως ποιήσεις αὐτοῖς τὸν ἁγνισμὸν αὐτῶν· περιρρανεῖς αὐτοὺς ὕδωρ ἁγνισμοῦ, καὶ ἐπελεύσεται ξυρὸν ἐπὶ πᾶν τὸ σῶμα αὐτῶν, καὶ πλυνοῦσιν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτῶν καὶ καθαροὶ ἔσονται. |
And thus shall you perform their purification: you shall sprinkle them with water of purification, and a razor shall come upon the whole of their body, and they shall wash their garments, and shall be clean. | | And thus you shall do to them, to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of expiation upon them, and let them go with a razor over all their body, and wash their clothes and cleanse themselves. | וְכֹה־תַעֲשֶׂה לָהֶם לְטַהֲרָם הַזֵּה עֲלֵיהֶם מֵי חַטָּאת וְהֶעֱבִירוּ תַעַר עַל־כָּל־בְּשָׂרָם וְכִבְּסוּ בִגְדֵיהֶם וְהִטֶּהָרוּ׃ |
7 |
| 8 | καὶ λήμψονται μόσχον ἕνα ἐκ βοῶν καὶ τούτου θυσίαν σεμιδάλεως ἀναπεποιημένην ἐν ἐλαίῳ, καὶ μόσχον ἐνιαύσιον ἐκ βοῶν λήμψῃ περὶ ἁμαρτίας. |
And they shall take one calf of the herd, and its meat-offering, fine flour mingled with oil: and you shall take a calf of a year old of the herd for a sin-offering. | | Then let them take a young bull and its cereal offering of fine flour mixed with oil, and you shall take another young bull for a sin offering. | וְלָקְחוּ פַּר בֶּן־בָּקָר וּמִנְחָתֹו סֹלֶת בְּלוּלָה בַשָּׁמֶן וּפַר־שֵׁנִי בֶן־בָּקָר תִּקַּח לְחַטָּאת׃ |

| 9 | καὶ προσάξεις τοὺς Λευίτας ἔναντι τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου καὶ συνάξεις πᾶσαν συναγωγὴν υἱῶν Ισραηλ |
And you shall bring the Levites before the tabernacle of witness; and you shall assemble all the congregation of the sons of Israel. | | And you shall present the Levites before the tent of meeting, and assemble the whole congregation of the people of Israel. | וְהִקְרַבְתָּ אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם לִפְנֵי אֹהֶל מֹועֵד וְהִקְהַלְתָּ אֶת־כָּל־עֲדַת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ |

| 10 | καὶ προσάξεις τοὺς Λευίτας ἔναντι κυρίου, καὶ ἐπιθήσουσιν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τοὺς Λευίτας, |
And you shall bring the Levites before the Lord; and the sons of Israel shall lay their hands upon the Levites. | | When you present the Levites before the LORD, the people of Israel shall lay their hands upon the Levites, | וְהִקְרַבְתָּ אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וְסָמְכוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־יְדֵיהֶם עַל־הַלְוִיִּם׃ |
10 |
| 11 | καὶ ἀφοριεῖ Ααρων τοὺς Λευίτας ἀπόδομα ἔναντι κυρίου παρὰ τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ, καὶ ἔσονται ὥστε ἐργάζεσθαι τὰ ἔργα κυρίου. |
And Aaron shall separate the Levites for a gift before the Lord from the children of Israel: and they shall be prepared to perform the works of the Lord. | | and Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD as a wave offering from the people of Israel, that it may be theirs to do the service of the LORD. | וְהֵנִיף אַהֲרֹן אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם תְּנוּפָה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה מֵאֵת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְהָיוּ לַעֲבֹד אֶת־עֲבֹדַת יְהוָה׃ |
11 |
| 12 | οἱ δὲ Λευῖται ἐπιθήσουσιν τὰς χεῖρας ἐπὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς τῶν μόσχων, καὶ ποιήσει τὸν ἕνα περὶ ἁμαρτίας καὶ τὸν ἕνα εἰς ὁλοκαύτωμα κυρίῳ ἐξιλάσασθαι περὶ αὐτῶν. |
And the Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the calves; and you shall offer one for a sin-offering, and the other for a whole-burnt-offering to the Lord, to make atonement for them. | | Then the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bulls; and you shall offer the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering to the LORD, to make atonement for the Levites. | וְהַלְוִיִּם יִסְמְכוּ אֶת־יְדֵיהֶם עַל רֹאשׁ הַפָּרִים וַעֲשֵׂה אֶת־הָאֶחָד חַטָּאת וְאֶת־הָאֶחָד עֹלָה לַיהוָה לְכַפֵּר עַל־הַלְוִיִּם׃ |

| 13 | καὶ στήσεις τοὺς Λευίτας ἔναντι κυρίου καὶ ἔναντι Ααρων καὶ ἔναντι τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀποδώσεις αὐτοὺς ἀπόδομα ἔναντι κυρίου· |
And you shall set the Levites before the Lord, and before Aaron, and before his sons; and you shall give them as a gift before the Lord. | | And you shall cause the Levites to attend Aaron and his sons, and shall offer them as a wave offering to the LORD. | וְהַעֲמַדְתָּ אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם לִפְנֵי אַהֲרֹן וְלִפְנֵי בָנָיו וְהֵנַפְתָּ אֹתָם תְּנוּפָה לַיהוָה׃ |
13 |
| 14 | καὶ διαστελεῖς τοὺς Λευίτας ἐκ μέσου υἱῶν Ισραηλ, καὶ ἔσονται ἐμοί. |
And you shall separate the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel, ad they shall be mine. | | "Thus you shall separate the Levites from among the people of Israel, and the Levites shall be mine. | וְהִבְדַּלְתָּ אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם מִתֹּוךְ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְהָיוּ לִי הַלְוִיִּם׃ |
14 |
| 15 | καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα εἰσελεύσονται οἱ Λευῖται ἐργάζεσθαι τὰ ἔργα τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου, καὶ καθαριεῖς αὐτοὺς καὶ ἀποδώσεις αὐτοὺς ἔναντι κυρίου. |
And afterwards the Levites shall go in to perform the works of the tabernacle of witness; and you shall purify them, and present them before the Lord. | | And after that the Levites shall go in to do service at the tent of meeting, when you have cleansed them and offered them as a wave offering. | וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵן יָבֹאוּ הַלְוִיִּם לַעֲבֹד אֶת־אֹהֶל מֹועֵד וְטִהַרְתָּ אֹתָם וְהֵנַפְתָּ אֹתָם תְּנוּפָה׃ |
15 |
| 16 | ὅτι ἀπόδομα ἀποδεδομένοι οὗτοί μοί εἰσιν ἐκ μέσου υἱῶν Ισραηλ· ἀντὶ τῶν διανοιγόντων πᾶσαν μήτραν πρωτοτόκων πάντων ἐκ τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ εἴληφα αὐτοὺς ἐμοί. |
For these are given to me for a present out of the midst of the children of Israel: I have taken them to myself instead of all the first-born of the sons of Israel that open every womb. | | For they are wholly given to me from among the people of Israel; instead of all that open the womb, the first-born of all the people of Israel, I have taken them for myself. | כִּי נְתֻנִים נְתֻנִים הֵמָּה לִי מִתֹּוךְ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל תַּחַת פִּטְרַת כָּל־רֶחֶם בְּכֹור כֹּל מִבְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לָקַחְתִּי אֹתָם לִי׃ |
16 |
| 17 | ὅτι ἐμοὶ πᾶν πρωτότοκον ἐν υἱοῖς Ισραηλ ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπου ἕως κτήνους· ᾗ ἡμέρᾳ ἐπάταξα πᾶν πρωτότοκον ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ, ἡγίασα αὐτοὺς ἐμοὶ |
For every first-born among the children of Israel [is] mine, whether of man or beast: in the day in which I smote every first-born in the land of Egypt, I sanctified them to myself. | | For all the first-born among the people of Israel are mine, both of man and of beast; on the day that I slew all the first-born in the land of Egypt I consecrated them for myself, | כִּי לִי כָל־בְּכֹור בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בָּאָדָם וּבַבְּהֵמָה בְּיֹום הַכֹּתִי כָל־בְּכֹור בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם הִקְדַּשְׁתִּי אֹתָם לִי׃ |
17 |
| 18 | καὶ ἔλαβον τοὺς Λευίτας ἀντὶ παντὸς πρωτοτόκου ἐν υἱοῖς Ισραηλ. |
And I took the Levites in the place of every first-born among the children of Israel. | | and I have taken the Levites instead of all the first-born among the people of Israel. | וָאֶקַּח אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם תַּחַת כָּל־בְּכֹור בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ |

| 19 | καὶ ἀπέδωκα τοὺς Λευίτας ἀπόδομα δεδομένους Ααρων καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτοῦ ἐκ μέσου υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἐργάζεσθαι τὰ ἔργα τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου καὶ ἐξιλάσκεσθαι περὶ τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ, καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ἐν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ προσεγγίζων πρὸς τὰ ἅγια. - |
And I gave the Levites presented as a gift to Aaron and his sons out of the midst of the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of witness, and to make atonement for the children of Israel: thus there shall be none among the sons of Israel to draw nigh to the holy things. | | And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons from among the people of Israel, to do the service for the people of Israel at the tent of meeting, and to make atonement for the people of Israel, that there may be no plague among the people of Israel in case the people of Israel should come near the sanctuary." | וָאֶתְּנָה אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם נְתֻנִים לְאַהֲרֹן וּלְבָנָיו מִתֹּוךְ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לַעֲבֹד אֶת־עֲבֹדַת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּאֹהֶל מֹועֵד וּלְכַפֵּר עַל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְלֹא יִהְיֶה בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל נֶגֶף בְּגֶשֶׁת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל־הַקֹּדֶשׁ׃ |

| 20 | καὶ ἐποίησεν Μωϋσῆς καὶ Ααρων καὶ πᾶσα συναγωγὴ υἱῶν Ισραηλ τοῖς Λευίταις καθὰ ἐνετείλατο κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ περὶ τῶν Λευιτῶν, οὕτως ἐποίησαν αὐτοῖς οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ. |
And Moses and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, did to the Levites as the Lord commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so the sons of Israel did to them. | | Thus did Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the people of Israel to the Levites; according to all that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites, the people of Israel did to them. | וַיַּעַשׂ מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן וְכָל־עֲדַת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל לַלְוִיִּם כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה לַלְוִיִּם כֵּן־עָשׂוּ לָהֶם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ |

| 21 | καὶ ἡγνίσαντο οἱ Λευῖται καὶ ἐπλύναντο τὰ ἱμάτια, καὶ ἀπέδωκεν αὐτοὺς Ααρων ἀπόδομα ἔναντι κυρίου, καὶ ἐξιλάσατο περὶ αὐτῶν Ααρων ἀφαγνίσασθαι αὐτούς. |
So the Levites purified themselves and washed their garments; and Aaron presented them as a gift before the Lord, and Aaron made atonement for them to purify them. | | And the Levites purified themselves from sin, and washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them as a wave offering before the LORD, and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them. | וַיִּתְחַטְּאוּ הַלְוִיִּם וַיְכַבְּסוּ בִּגְדֵיהֶם וַיָּנֶף אַהֲרֹן אֹתָם תְּנוּפָה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וַיְכַפֵּר עֲלֵיהֶם אַהֲרֹן לְטַהֲרָם׃ |

| 22 | καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα εἰσῆλθον οἱ Λευῖται λειτουργεῖν τὴν λειτουργίαν αὐτῶν ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου ἔναντι Ααρων καὶ ἔναντι τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ· καθὼς συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ περὶ τῶν Λευιτῶν, οὕτως ἐποίησαν αὐτοῖς. |
And afterwards the Levites went in to minister in their service in the tabernacle of witness before Aaron, and before his sons; as the Lord appointed Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them. | | And after that the Levites went in to do their service in the tent of meeting in attendance upon Aaron and his sons; as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them. | וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵן בָּאוּ הַלְוִיִּם לַעֲבֹד אֶת־עֲבֹדָתָם בְּאֹהֶל מֹועֵד לִפְנֵי אַהֲרֹן וְלִפְנֵי בָנָיו כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה עַל־הַלְוִיִּם כֵּן עָשׂוּ לָהֶם׃ ס |

| 23 | Καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων |
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, | | And the LORD said to Moses, | וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃ |

| 24 | Τοῦτό ἐστιν τὸ περὶ τῶν Λευιτῶν· ἀπὸ πεντεκαιεικοσαετοῦς καὶ ἐπάνω εἰσελεύσονται ἐνεργεῖν ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου· |
This is the [ordinance] for the Levites; From five and twenty years old and upward, they shall go in to minister in the tabernacle of witness. | | "This is what pertains to the Levites: from twenty-five years old and upward they shall go in to perform the work in the service of the tent of meeting; | זֹאת אֲשֶׁר לַלְוִיִּם מִבֶּן חָמֵשׁ וְעֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה יָבֹוא לִצְבֹא צָבָא בַּעֲבֹדַת אֹהֶל מֹועֵד׃ |
24 |
| 25 | καὶ ἀπὸ πεντηκονταετοῦς ἀποστήσεται ἀπὸ τῆς λειτουργίας καὶ οὐκ ἐργᾶται ἔτι, |
And from fifty years old [the Levites] shall cease from the ministry, and shall not work any longer. | | and from the age of fifty years they shall withdraw from the work of the service and serve no more, | וּמִבֶּן חֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה יָשׁוּב מִצְּבָא הָעֲבֹדָה וְלֹא יַעֲבֹד עֹוד׃ |
25 |
| 26 | καὶ λειτουργήσει ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου φυλάσσειν φυλακάς, ἔργα δὲ οὐκ ἐργᾶται. οὕτως ποιήσεις τοῖς Λευίταις ἐν ταῖς φυλακαῖς αὐτῶν. |
And his brother shall serve in the tabernacle of witness to keep charges, but he shall not do works: so shall you do to the Levites in their charges. | | but minister to their brethren in the tent of meeting, to keep the charge, and they shall do no service. Thus shall you do to the Levites in assigning their duties." | וְשֵׁרֵת אֶת־אֶחָיו בְּאֹהֶל מֹועֵד לִשְׁמֹר מִשְׁמֶרֶת וַעֲבֹדָה לֹא יַעֲבֹד כָּכָה תַּעֲשֶׂה לַלְוִיִּם בְּמִשְׁמְרֹתָם׃ ף |
