| 1 | Καὶ κτήνη πλῆθος ἦν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ρουβην καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Γαδ, πλῆθος σφόδρα· καὶ εἶδον τὴν χώραν Ιαζηρ καὶ τὴν χώραν Γαλααδ, καὶ ἦν ὁ τόπος τόπος κτήνεσιν. |
And the children of Ruben and the children of Gad had a multitude of cattle, very great; and they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Galaad; and the place was a place for cattle: | East of Jordan. | 2 | καὶ προσελθόντες οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ εἶπαν πρὸς Μωυσῆν καὶ πρὸς Ελεαζαρ τὸν ἱερέα καὶ πρὸς τοὺς ἄρχοντας τῆς συναγωγῆς λέγοντες |
and the children of Ruben and the children of Gad came, and spoke to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the princes of the congregation, saying, | | So the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben came and said to Moses and to Elea'zar the priest and to the leaders of the congregation, | וַיָּבֹאוּ בְנֵי־גָד וּבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֶל־מֹשֶׁה וְאֶל־אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וְאֶל־נְשִׂיאֵי הָעֵדָה לֵאמֹר׃ |

| 3 | Αταρωθ καὶ Δαιβων καὶ Ιαζηρ καὶ Ναμβρα καὶ Εσεβων καὶ Ελεαλη καὶ Σεβαμα καὶ Ναβαυ καὶ Βαιαν, |
Ataroth, and Daebon, and Jazer, and Namra, and Esebon, and Eleale, and Sebama, and Nabau, and Baean, | | "At'aroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elea'leh, Sebam, Nebo, and Be'on, | עֲטָרֹות וְדִיבֹן וְיַעְזֵר וְנִמְרָה וְחֶשְׁבֹּון וְאֶלְעָלֵה וּשְׂבָם וּנְבֹו וּבְעֹן׃ |

| 4 | τὴν γῆν, ἣν παρέδωκεν κύριος ἐνώπιον τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ, γῆ κτηνοτρόφος ἐστίν, καὶ τοῖς παισίν σου κτήνη ὑπάρχει. |
the land which the Lord has delivered up before the children of Israel, is pasture land, and your servants have cattle. | | the land which the LORD smote before the congregation of Israel, is a land for cattle; and your servants have cattle." | הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר הִכָּה יְהוָה לִפְנֵי עֲדַת יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶרֶץ מִקְנֶה הִוא וְלַעֲבָדֶיךָ מִקְנֶה׃ ס |

| 5 | καὶ ἔλεγον Εἰ εὕρομεν χάριν ἐνώπιόν σου, δοθήτω ἡ γῆ αὕτη τοῖς οἰκέταις σου ἐν κατασχέσει, καὶ μὴ διαβιβάσῃς ἡμᾶς τὸν Ιορδάνην. |
And they said, If we have found grace in your sight, let this land be given to your servants for a possession, and do not cause us to pass over Jordan. | | And they said, "If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants for a possession; do not take us across the Jordan." | וַיֹּאמְרוּ אִם־מָצָאנוּ חֵן בְּעֵינֶיךָ יֻתַּן אֶת־הָאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת לַעֲבָדֶיךָ לַאֲחֻזָּה אַל־תַּעֲבִרֵנוּ אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּן׃ |

| 6 | καὶ εἶπεν Μωϋσῆς τοῖς υἱοῖς Γαδ καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Ρουβην Οἱ ἀδελφοὶ ὑμῶν πορεύονται εἰς πόλεμον, καὶ ὑμεῖς καθήσεσθε αὐτοῦ; |
And Moses said to the sons of Gad and the sons of Ruben, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall you sit here? | | But Moses said to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben, "Shall your brethren go to the war while you sit here? | וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה לִבְנֵי־גָד וְלִבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן הַאַחֵיכֶם יָבֹאוּ לַמִּלְחָמָה וְאַתֶּם תֵּשְׁבוּ פֹה׃ |

| 7 | καὶ ἵνα τί διαστρέφετε τὰς διανοίας τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ μὴ διαβῆναι εἰς τὴν γῆν, ἣν κύριος δίδωσιν αὐτοῖς; |
And why do you pervert the minds of the children of Israel, that they should not cross over into the land, which the Lord gives them? | | Why will you discourage the heart of the people of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD has given them? | וְלָמָּה [כ= תְנוּאוּן] [ק= תְנִיאוּן] אֶת־לֵב בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵעֲבֹר אֶל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר־נָתַן לָהֶם יְהוָה׃ |

| 8 | οὐχ οὕτως ἐποίησαν οἱ πατέρες ὑμῶν, ὅτε ἀπέστειλα αὐτοὺς ἐκ Καδης Βαρνη κατανοῆσαι τὴν γῆν; |
Did not your fathers thus, when I sent them from Cades Barne to spy out the land? | | Thus did your fathers, when I sent them from Ka'desh-bar'nea to see the land. | כֹּה עָשׂוּ אֲבֹתֵיכֶם בְּשָׁלְחִי אֹתָם מִקָּדֵשׁ בַּרְנֵעַ לִרְאֹות אֶת־הָאָרֶץ׃ |

| 9 | καὶ ἀνέβησαν Φάραγγα βότρυος καὶ κατενόησαν τὴν γῆν καὶ ἀπέστησαν τὴν καρδίαν τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ, ὅπως μὴ εἰσέλθωσιν εἰς τὴν γῆν, ἣν ἔδωκεν κύριος αὐτοῖς. |
And they went up to the valley of the cluster, and spied the land, and turned aside the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land, which the Lord gave them. | | For when they went up to the Valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the people of Israel from going into the land which the LORD had given them. | וַיַּעֲלוּ עַד־נַחַל אֶשְׁכֹּול וַיִּרְאוּ אֶת־הָאָרֶץ וַיָּנִיאוּ אֶת־לֵב בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְבִלְתִּי־בֹא אֶל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר־נָתַן לָהֶם יְהוָה׃ |

| 10 | καὶ ὠργίσθη θυμῷ κύριος ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ καὶ ὤμοσεν λέγων |
And the Lord was very angry in that day, and sware, saying, | | And the LORD's anger was kindled on that day, and he swore, saying, | וַיִּחַר־אַף יְהוָה בַּיֹּום הַהוּא וַיִּשָּׁבַע לֵאמֹר׃ |

| 11 | Εἰ ὄψονται οἱ ἄνθρωποι οὗτοι οἱ ἀναβάντες ἐξ Αἰγύπτου ἀπὸ εἰκοσαετοῦς καὶ ἐπάνω οἱ ἐπιστάμενοι τὸ κακὸν καὶ τὸ ἀγαθὸν τὴν γῆν, ἣν ὤμοσα τῷ Αβρααμ καὶ Ισαακ καὶ Ιακωβ, οὐ γὰρ συνεπηκολούθησαν ὀπίσω μου, |
Surely these men who came up out of Egypt from twenty years old and upward, who know good and evil, shall not see the land which I sware [to give] to Abraam and Isaac and Jacob, for they have not closely followed after me: | | 'Surely none of the men who came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, because they have not wholly followed me; | אִם־יִרְאוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים הָעֹלִים מִמִּצְרַיִם מִבֶּן עֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה אֵת הָאֲדָמָה אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּעְתִּי לְאַבְרָהָם לְיִצְחָק וּלְיַעֲקֹב כִּי לֹא־מִלְאוּ אַחֲרָי׃ |

| 12 | πλὴν Χαλεβ υἱὸς Ιεφοννη ὁ διακεχωρισμένος καὶ Ἰησοῦς ὁ τοῦ Ναυη, ὅτι συνεπηκολούθησεν ὀπίσω κυρίου. |
save Caleb the son of Jephonne, who was set apart, and Joshua the son of Naue, for they closely followed after the Lord. | | none except Caleb the son of Jephun'neh the Ken'izzite and Joshua the son of Nun, for they have wholly followed the LORD.' | בִּלְתִּי כָּלֵב בֶּן־יְפֻנֶּה הַקְּנִזִּי וִיהֹושֻׁעַ בִּן־נוּן כִּי מִלְאוּ אַחֲרֵי יְהוָה׃ |

| 13 | καὶ ὠργίσθη θυμῷ κύριος ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ κατερρόμβευσεν αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη, ἕως ἐξανηλώθη πᾶσα ἡ γενεὰ οἱ ποιοῦντες τὰ πονηρὰ ἔναντι κυρίου. |
And the Lord was very angry with Israel; and for forty years he caused them to wander in the wilderness, until all the generation which did evil in the sight of the Lord as extinct. | | And the LORD's anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation that had done evil in the sight of the LORD was consumed. | וַיִּחַר־אַף יְהוָה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל וַיְנִעֵם בַּמִּדְבָּר אַרְבָּעִים שָׁנָה עַד־תֹּם כָּל־הַדֹּור הָעֹשֶׂה הָרַע בְּעֵינֵי יְהוָה׃ |

| 14 | ἰδοὺ ἀνέστητε ἀντὶ τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν σύστρεμμα ἀνθρώπων ἁμαρτωλῶν προσθεῖναι ἔτι ἐπὶ τὸν θυμὸν τῆς ὀργῆς κυρίου ἐπὶ Ισραηλ, |
Behold, you are risen up in the room of your fathers, a combination of sinful men, to increase yet farther the fierce wrath of the Lord against Israel. | | And behold, you have risen in your fathers' stead, a brood of sinful men, to increase still more the fierce anger of the LORD against Israel! | וְהִנֵּה קַמְתֶּם תַּחַת אֲבֹתֵיכֶם תַּרְבּוּת אֲנָשִׁים חַטָּאִים לִסְפֹּות עֹוד עַל חֲרֹון אַף־יְהוָה אֶל־יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ |
14 |
| 15 | ὅτι ἀποστραφήσεσθε ἀπ' αὐτοῦ προσθεῖναι ἔτι καταλιπεῖν αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ καὶ ἀνομήσετε εἰς ὅλην τὴν συναγωγὴν ταύτην. |
For you will turn away from him to desert him yet once more in the wilderness, and you will sin against this whole congregation. | | For if you turn away from following him, he will again abandon them in the wilderness; and you will destroy all this people." | כִּי תְשׁוּבֻן מֵאַחֲרָיו וְיָסַף עֹוד לְהַנִּיחֹו בַּמִּדְבָּר וְשִׁחַתֶּם לְכָל־הָעָם הַזֶּה׃ ס |

| 16 | καὶ προσῆλθον αὐτῷ καὶ ἔλεγον Ἑπαύλεις προβάτων οἰκοδομήσωμεν ὧδε τοῖς κτήνεσιν ἡμῶν καὶ πόλεις ταῖς ἀποσκευαῖς ἡμῶν, |
And they came to him, and said, We will build here folds for our cattle, and cities for our possessions; | | Then they came near to him, and said, "We will build sheepfolds here for our flocks, and cities for our little ones, | וַיִּגְּשׁוּ אֵלָיו וַיֹּאמְרוּ גִּדְרֹת צֹאן נִבְנֶה לְמִקְנֵנוּ פֹּה וְעָרִים לְטַפֵּנוּ׃ |
16 |
| 17 | καὶ ἡμεῖς ἐνοπλισάμενοι προφυλακὴ πρότεροι τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ, ἕως ἂν ἀγάγωμεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸν ἑαυτῶν τόπον· καὶ κατοικήσει ἡ ἀποσκευὴ ἡμῶν ἐν πόλεσιν τετειχισμέναις διὰ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν γῆν. |
and we will arm ourselves and go as an advanced guard before the children of Israel, until we shall have brought them into their place; and our possessions shall remain in walled cities because of the inhabitants of the land. | | but we will take up arms, ready to go before the people of Israel, until we have brought them to their place; and our little ones shall live in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land. | וַאֲנַחְנוּ נֵחָלֵץ חֻשִׁים לִפְנֵי בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עַד אֲשֶׁר אִם־הֲבִיאֹנֻם אֶל־מְקֹוםָם וְיָשַׁב טַפֵּנוּ בְּעָרֵי הַמִּבְצָר מִפְּנֵי יֹשְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ׃ |
17 |
| 18 | οὐ μὴ ἀποστραφῶμεν εἰς τὰς οἰκίας ἡμῶν, ἕως ἂν καταμερισθῶσιν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἕκαστος εἰς τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ· |
We will not return to our houses till the children of Israel shall have been distributed, each to his own inheritance. | | We will not return to our homes until the people of Israel have inherited each his inheritance. | לֹא נָשׁוּב אֶל־בָּתֵּינוּ עַד הִתְנַחֵל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אִישׁ נַחֲלָתֹו׃ |
18 |
| 19 | καὶ οὐκέτι κληρονομήσωμεν ἐν αὐτοῖς ἀπὸ τοῦ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου καὶ ἐπέκεινα, ὅτι ἀπέχομεν τοὺς κλήρους ἡμῶν ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἐν ἀνατολαῖς. |
And we will not any longer inherit with them from the other side of Jordan and onwards, because we have our full inheritance on the side beyond Jordan eastward. | | For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan and beyond; because our inheritance has come to us on this side of the Jordan to the east." | כִּי לֹא נִנְחַל אִתָּם מֵעֵבֶר לַיַּרְדֵּן וָהָלְאָה כִּי בָאָה נַחֲלָתֵנוּ אֵלֵינוּ מֵעֵבֶר הַיַּרְדֵּן מִזְרָחָה׃ ף |

| 20 | καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς Μωϋσῆς Ἑὰν ποιήσητε κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο, ἐὰν ἐξοπλίσησθε ἔναντι κυρίου εἰς πόλεμον |
And Moses said to them, If you will do according to these words, if you will arm yourselves before the Lord for battle, | | So Moses said to them, "If you will do this, if you will take up arms to go before the LORD for the war, | וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם מֹשֶׁה אִם־תַּעֲשׂוּן אֶת־הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה אִם־תֵּחָלְצוּ לִפְנֵי יְהוָה לַמִּלְחָמָה׃ |
20 |
| 21 | καὶ παρελεύσεται ὑμῶν πᾶς ὁπλίτης τὸν Ιορδάνην ἔναντι κυρίου, ἕως ἂν ἐκτριβῇ ὁ ἐχθρὸς αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ |
and every one of you will pass over Jordan fully armed before the Lord, until his enemy be destroyed from before his face, | | and every armed man of you will pass over the Jordan before the LORD, until he has driven out his enemies from before him | וְעָבַר לָכֶם כָּל־חָלוּץ אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּן לִפְנֵי יְהוָה עַד הֹורִישֹׁו אֶת־אֹיְבָיו מִפָּנָיו׃ |
21 |
| 22 | καὶ κατακυριευθῇ ἡ γῆ ἔναντι κυρίου, καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἀποστραφήσεσθε, καὶ ἔσεσθε ἀθῷοι ἔναντι κυρίου καὶ ἀπὸ Ισραηλ, καὶ ἔσται ἡ γῆ αὕτη ὑμῖν ἐν κατασχέσει ἔναντι κυρίου. |
and the land shall be subdued before the Lord, then afterwards you shall return, and be guiltless before the Lord, and as regards Israel; and this land shall be to you for a possession before the Lord. | | and the land is subdued before the LORD; then after that you shall return and be free of obligation to the LORD and to Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the LORD. | וְנִכְבְּשָׁה הָאָרֶץ לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וְאַחַר תָּשֻׁבוּ וִהְיִיתֶם נְקִיִּים מֵיְהוָה וּמִיִּשְׂרָאֵל וְהָיְתָה הָאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת לָכֶם לַאֲחֻזָּה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה׃ |

| 23 | ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ποιήσητε οὕτως, ἁμαρτήσεσθε ἔναντι κυρίου καὶ γνώσεσθε τὴν ἁμαρτίαν ὑμῶν, ὅταν ὑμᾶς καταλάβῃ τὰ κακά. |
But if you will not do so, you will sin against the Lord; and you shall know your sin, when afflictions shall come upon you. | | But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the LORD; and be sure your sin will find you out. | וְאִם־לֹא תַעֲשׂוּן כֵּן הִנֵּה חֲטָאתֶם לַיהוָה וּדְעוּ חַטַּאתְכֶם אֲשֶׁר תִּמְצָא אֶתְכֶם׃ |
23 |
| 24 | καὶ οἰκοδομήσετε ὑμῖν αὐτοῖς πόλεις τῇ ἀποσκευῇ ὑμῶν καὶ ἐπαύλεις τοῖς κτήνεσιν ὑμῶν καὶ τὸ ἐκπορευόμενον ἐκ τοῦ στόματος ὑμῶν ποιήσετε. |
And you shall build for yourselves cities for your store, and folds for your cattle; and you shall do that which proceeds out of your mouth. | | Build cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do what you have promised." | בְּנוּ־לָכֶם עָרִים לְטַפְּכֶם וּגְדֵרֹת לְצֹנַאֲכֶם וְהַיֹּצֵא מִפִּיכֶם תַּעֲשׂוּ׃ |

| 25 | καὶ εἶπαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγοντες Οἱ παῖδές σου ποιήσουσιν καθὰ ὁ κύριος ἡμῶν ἐντέλλεται· |
And the sons of Ruben and the sons of Gad spoke to Moses, saying, Your servants will do as our lord commands. | | And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben said to Moses, "Your servants will do as my lord commands. | וַיֹּאמֶר בְּנֵי־גָד וּבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵאמֹר עֲבָדֶיךָ יַעֲשׂוּ כַּאֲשֶׁר אֲדֹנִי מְצַוֶּה׃ |

| 26 | ἡ ἀποσκευὴ ἡμῶν καὶ αἱ γυναῖκες ἡμῶν καὶ πάντα τὰ κτήνη ἡμῶν ἔσονται ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν Γαλααδ, |
Our store, and our wives, and all our cattle shall be in the cities of Galaad. | | Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall remain there in the cities of Gilead; | טַפֵּנוּ נָשֵׁינוּ מִקְנֵנוּ וְכָל־בְּהֶמְתֵּנוּ יִהְיוּ־שָׁם בְּעָרֵי הַגִּלְעָד׃ |

| 27 | οἱ δὲ παῖδές σου παρελεύσονται πάντες ἐνωπλισμένοι καὶ ἐκτεταγμένοι ἔναντι κυρίου εἰς τὸν πόλεμον, ὃν τρόπον ὁ κύριος λέγει. |
But your servants will go over all armed and set in order before the Lord to battle, as [our] lord says. | | but your servants will pass over, every man who is armed for war, before the LORD to battle, as my lord orders." | וַעֲבָדֶיךָ יַעַבְרוּ כָּל־חֲלוּץ צָבָא לִפְנֵי יְהוָה לַמִּלְחָמָה כַּאֲשֶׁר אֲדֹנִי דֹּבֵר׃ |
27 |
| 28 | καὶ συνέστησεν αὐτοῖς Μωϋσῆς Ελεαζαρ τὸν ἱερέα καὶ Ἰησοῦν υἱὸν Ναυη καὶ τοὺς ἄρχοντας πατριῶν τῶν φυλῶν Ισραηλ, |
And Moses appointed to them [for judges] Eleazar the pries, and Joshua the son of Naue, and the chiefs of the families of the tribes of Israel. | | So Moses gave command concerning them to Elea'zar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers' houses of the tribes of the people of Israel. | וַיְצַו לָהֶם מֹשֶׁה אֵת אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וְאֵת יְהֹושֻׁעַ בִּן־נוּן וְאֶת־רָאשֵׁי אֲבֹות הַמַּטֹּות לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ |

| 29 | καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς Μωϋσῆς Ἑὰν διαβῶσιν οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ μεθ' ὑμῶν τὸν Ιορδάνην, πᾶς ἐνωπλισμένος εἰς πόλεμον ἔναντι κυρίου, καὶ κατακυριεύσητε τῆς γῆς ἀπέναντι ὑμῶν, καὶ δώσετε αὐτοῖς τὴν γῆν Γαλααδ ἐν κατασχέσει· |
And Moses said to them, If the sons of Ruben and the sons of Gad will pass over Jordan with you, every one armed for war before the Lord, and you shall subdue the land before you, then you shall give to them the land of Galaad for a possession. | | And Moses said to them, "If the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben, every man who is armed to battle before the LORD, will pass with you over the Jordan and the land shall be subdued before you, then you shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession; | וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֲלֵהֶם אִם־יַעַבְרוּ בְנֵי־גָד וּבְנֵי־רְאוּבֵן אִתְּכֶם אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּן כָּל־חָלוּץ לַמִּלְחָמָה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וְנִכְבְּשָׁה הָאָרֶץ לִפְנֵיכֶם וּנְתַתֶּם לָהֶם אֶת־אֶרֶץ הַגִּלְעָד לַאֲחֻזָּה׃ |

| 30 | ἐὰν δὲ μὴ διαβῶσιν ἐνωπλισμένοι μεθ' ὑμῶν εἰς τὸν πόλεμον ἔναντι κυρίου, καὶ διαβιβάσετε τὴν ἀποσκευὴν αὐτῶν καὶ τὰς γυναῖκας αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ κτήνη αὐτῶν πρότερα ὑμῶν εἰς γῆν Χανααν, καὶ συγκατακληρονομηθήσονται ἐν ὑμῖν ἐν τῇ γῇ Χανααν. |
But if they will not pass over armed with you to war before the Lord, then shall you cause to pass over their possessions and their wives and their cattle before you into the land of Chanaan, and they shall inherit with you in the land of Chanaan. | | but if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan." | וְאִם־לֹא יַעַבְרוּ חֲלוּצִים אִתְּכֶם וְנֹאחֲזוּ בְתֹכְכֶם בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן׃ |

| 31 | καὶ ἀπεκρίθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ λέγοντες Ὅσα ὁ κύριος λέγει τοῖς θεράπουσιν αὐτοῦ, οὕτως ποιήσομεν· |
And the sons of Ruben and the sons of Gad answered, saying, Whatsoever the Lord says to his servants, that will we do. | | And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben answered, "As the LORD has said to your servants, so we will do. | וַיַּעֲנוּ בְנֵי־גָד וּבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן לֵאמֹר אֵת אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֶל־עֲבָדֶיךָ כֵּן נַעֲשֶׂה׃ |
31 |
| 32 | ἡμεῖς διαβησόμεθα ἐνωπλισμένοι ἔναντι κυρίου εἰς γῆν Χανααν, καὶ δώσετε τὴν κατάσχεσιν ἡμῖν ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου. |
We will go over armed before the Lord into the land of Chanaan, and you shall give us our inheritance beyond Jordan. | | We will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, and the possession of our inheritance shall remain with us beyond the Jordan." | נַחְנוּ נַעֲבֹר חֲלוּצִים לִפְנֵי יְהוָה אֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן וְאִתָּנוּ אֲחֻזַּת נַחֲלָתֵנוּ מֵעֵבֶר לַיַּרְדֵּן׃ |
32 |
| 33 | καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς Μωϋσῆς, τοῖς υἱοῖς Γαδ καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Ρουβην καὶ τῷ ἡμίσει φυλῆς Μανασση υἱῶν Ιωσηφ, τὴν βασιλείαν Σηων βασιλέως Αμορραίων καὶ τὴν βασιλείαν Ωγ βασιλέως τῆς Βασαν, τὴν γῆν καὶ τὰς πόλεις σὺν τοῖς ὁρίοις αὐτῆς, πόλεις τῆς γῆς κύκλῳ. |
And Moses gave to them, even to the sons of Gad and the sons of Ruben, and to the half tribe of Manasse of the sons of Joseph, the kingdom of Seon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Basan, the land and its cities with its coasts, the cities of the land round about. | | And Moses gave to them, to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben and to the half-tribe of Manas'seh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land and its cities with their territories, the cities of the land throughout the country. | וַיִּתֵּן לָהֶם מֹשֶׁה לִבְנֵי־גָד וְלִבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן וְלַחֲצִי שֵׁבֶט מְנַשֶּׁה בֶן־יֹוסֵף אֶת־מַמְלֶכֶת סִיחֹן מֶלֶךְ הָאֱמֹרִי וְאֶת־מַמְלֶכֶת עֹוג מֶלֶךְ הַבָּשָׁן הָאָרֶץ לְעָרֶיהָ בִּגְבֻלֹת עָרֵי הָאָרֶץ סָבִיב׃ |

| 34 | Καὶ ᾠκοδόμησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Γαδ τὴν Δαιβων καὶ τὴν Αταρωθ καὶ τὴν Αροηρ |
And the sons of Gad built Daebon, and Ataroth, and Aroer, | | And the sons of Gad built Dibon, At'aroth, Aro'er, | וַיִּבְנוּ בְנֵי־גָד אֶת־דִּיבֹן וְאֶת־עֲטָרֹת וְאֵת עֲרֹעֵר׃ |
34 |
| 35 | καὶ τὴν Σωφαρ καὶ τὴν Ιαζηρ καὶ ὕψωσαν αὐτὰς |
and Sophar, and Jazer, and they set them up, | | At'roth-sho'phan, Jazer, Jog'behah, | וְאֶת־עַטְרֹת שֹׁופָן וְאֶת־יַעְזֵר וְיָגְבֳּהָה׃ |
35 |
| 36 | καὶ τὴν Ναμβραν καὶ τὴν Βαιθαραν, πόλεις ὀχυρὰς καὶ ἐπαύλεις προβάτων. - |
and Namram, and Baetharan, strong cities, and folds for sheep. | | Beth-nim'rah and Beth-har'an, fortified cities, and folds for sheep. | וְאֶת־בֵּית נִמְרָה וְאֶת־בֵּית הָרָן עָרֵי מִבְצָר וְגִדְרֹת צֹאן׃ |
36 |
| 37 | καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ρουβην ᾠκοδόμησαν τὴν Εσεβων καὶ Ελεαλη καὶ Καριαθαιμ |
And the sons of Ruben built Esebon, and Eleale, and Kariatham, | | And the sons of Reuben built Heshbon, Elea'leh, Kiriatha'im, | וּבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן בָּנוּ אֶת־חֶשְׁבֹּון וְאֶת־אֶלְעָלֵא וְאֵת קִרְיָתָיִם׃ |
37 |
| 38 | καὶ τὴν Βεελμεων, περικεκυκλωμένας, καὶ τὴν Σεβαμα καὶ ἐπωνόμασαν κατὰ τὰ ὀνόματα αὐτῶν τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν πόλεων, ἃς ᾠκοδόμησαν. - |
and Beelmeon, surrounded [with walls], and Sebama; and they called the names of the cities which they built, after their own names. | | Nebo, and Ba'al-me'on (their names to be changed), and Sibmah; and they gave other names to the cities which they built. | וְאֶת־נְבֹו וְאֶת־בַּעַל מְעֹון מוּסַבֹּת שֵׁם וְאֶת־שִׂבְמָה וַיִּקְרְאוּ בְשֵׁמֹת אֶת־שְׁמֹות הֶעָרִים אֲשֶׁר בָּנוּ׃ |
38 |
| 39 | καὶ ἐπορεύθη υἱὸς Μαχιρ υἱοῦ Μανασση εἰς Γαλααδ καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτὴν καὶ ἀπώλεσεν τὸν Αμορραῖον τὸν κατοικοῦντα ἐν αὐτῇ. |
And a son of Machir the son of Manasse went to Galaad, and took it, and destroyed the Amorite who dwelt in it. | | And the sons of Machir the son of Manas'seh went to Gilead and took it, and dispossessed the Amorites who were in it. | וַיֵּלְכוּ בְּנֵי מָכִיר בֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁה גִּלְעָדָה וַיִּלְכְּדֻהָ וַיֹּורֶשׁ אֶת־הָאֱמֹרִי אֲשֶׁר־בָּהּ׃ |
39 |
| 40 | καὶ ἔδωκεν Μωϋσῆς τὴν Γαλααδ τῷ Μαχιρ υἱῷ Μανασση, καὶ κατῴκησεν ἐκεῖ. |
And Moses gave Galaad to Machir the son of Manasse, and he dwelt there. | | And Moses gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manas'seh, and he settled in it. | וַיִּתֵּן מֹשֶׁה אֶת־הַגִּלְעָד לְמָכִיר בֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁה וַיֵּשֶׁב בָּהּ׃ |

| 41 | καὶ Ιαιρ ὁ τοῦ Μανασση ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἔλαβεν τὰς ἐπαύλεις αὐτῶν καὶ ἐπωνόμασεν αὐτὰς Ἑπαύλεις Ιαιρ. |
And Jair the [son] of Manasse went and took their villages, and called them the villages of Jair. | | And Ja'ir the son of Manas'seh went and took their villages, and called them Hav'voth-ja'ir. | וְיָאִיר בֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁה הָלַךְ וַיִּלְכֹּד אֶת־חַוֹּתֵיהֶם וַיִּקְרָא אֶתְהֶן חַוֹּת יָאִיר׃ |
41 |
| 42 | καὶ Ναβαυ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἔλαβεν τὴν Κανααθ καὶ τὰς κώμας αὐτῆς καὶ ἐπωνόμασεν αὐτὰς Ναβωθ ἐκ τοῦ ὀνόματος αὐτοῦ. |
And Nabau went and took Caath and her villages, and called them Naboth after his name. | | And Nobah went and took Kenath and its villages, and called it Nobah, after his own name. | וְנֹבַח הָלַךְ וַיִּלְכֹּד אֶת־קְנָת וְאֶת־בְּנֹתֶיהָ וַיִּקְרָא לָה נֹבַח בִּשְׁמֹו׃ ף |
