Καὶ ἐπέστρεψα καὶ ἦρα τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ τέσσαρα ἅρματα ἐκπορευόμενα ἐκ μέσου δύο ὀρέων, καὶ τὰ ὄρη ἦν ὄρη χαλκᾶ. |
And I turned and lifted up mine eyes and looked and behold |
The vision of the chariots. Zch.6.1-8 |
And again I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, four chariots came out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of bronze. | וָאָשֻׁב וָאֶשָּׂא עֵינַי וָאֶרְאֶה וְהִנֵּה אַרְבַּע מַרְכָּבֹות
יֹצְאֹות מִבֵּין שְׁנֵי הֶהָרִים וְהֶהָרִים הָרֵי נְחֹשֶׁת׃ |

ἐν τῷ ἅρματι τῷ πρώτῳ ἵπποι πυρροί, καὶ ἐν τῷ ἅρματι τῷ δευτέρῳ ἵπποι μέλανες, |
In the first chariot [were] red horses; and in the second chariot black horses; |

The first chariot had red horses, the second black horses, | בַּמֶּרְכָּבָה הָרִאשֹׁנָה סוּסִים אֲדֻמִּים וּבַמֶּרְכָּבָה הַשֵּׁנִית
סוּסִים שְׁחֹרִים׃ |

καὶ ἐν τῷ ἅρματι τῷ τρίτῳ ἵπποι λευκοί, καὶ ἐν τῷ ἅρματι τῷ τετάρτῳ ἵπποι ποικίλοι ψαροί. |
and in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot piebald [and] ash-coloured horses. |

the third white horses, and the fourth chariot dappled gray horses. | וּבַמֶּרְכָּבָה הַשְּׁלִשִׁית סוּסִים לְבָנִים
וּבַמֶּרְכָּבָה הָרְבִעִית סוּסִים בְּרֻדִּים אֲמֻצִּים׃ |

καὶ ἀπεκρίθην καὶ εἶπα πρὸς τὸν ἄγγελον τὸν λαλοῦντα ἐν ἐμοί Τί ἐστιν ταῦτα, κύριε; |
And I answered and said to the angel that talked with me What are these my Lord? |

Then I said to the angel who talked with me, "What are these, my lord?" | וָאַעַן וָאֹמַר
אֶל־הַמַּלְאָךְ הַדֹּבֵר בִּי מָה־אֵלֶּה אֲדֹנִי׃ |

καὶ ἀπεκρίθη ὁ ἄγγελος ὁ λαλῶν ἐν ἐμοὶ καὶ εἶπεν Ταῦτά ἐστιν οἱ τέσσαρες ἄνεμοι τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, ἐκπορεύονται παραστῆναι τῷ κυρίῳ πάσης τῆς γῆς· |
And the angel that talked with me answered and said These are the four winds of heaven [and] they are going forth to stand before the Lord of all the earth. |

And the angel answered me, "These are going forth to the four winds of heaven, after presenting themselves before the LORD of all the earth. | וַיַּעַן הַמַּלְאָךְ וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָי
אֵלֶּה אַרְבַּע רֻחֹות הַשָּׁמַיִם יֹוצְאֹות מֵהִתְיַצֵּב עַל־אֲדֹון כָּל־הָאָרֶץ׃ |

ἐν ᾧ ἦσαν οἱ ἵπποι οἱ μέλανες, ἐξεπορεύοντο ἐπὶ γῆν βορρᾶ, καὶ οἱ λευκοὶ ἐξεπορεύοντο κατόπισθεν αὐτῶν, καὶ οἱ ποικίλοι ἐξεπορεύοντο ἐπὶ γῆν νότου, |
[As for the chariot] in which were the black horses they went out to the land of the north; and the white went out after them; and the piebald went out to the land of the south. |

The chariot with the black horses goes toward the north country, the white ones go toward the west country, and the dappled ones go toward the south country." | אֲשֶׁר־בָּהּ הַסּוּסִים הַשְּׁחֹרִים יֹצְאִים אֶל־אֶרֶץ צָפֹון
וְהַלְּבָנִים יָצְאוּ אֶל־אַחֲרֵיהֶם וְהַבְּרֻדִּים יָצְאוּ אֶל־אֶרֶץ הַתֵּימָן׃ |

καὶ οἱ ψαροὶ ἐξεπορεύοντο καὶ ἐπέβλεπον τοῦ πορεύεσθαι τοῦ περιοδεῦσαι τὴν γῆν. καὶ εἶπεν Πορεύεσθε καὶ περιοδεύσατε τὴν γῆν· καὶ περιώδευσαν τὴν γῆν. |
And the ash-coloured went out and looked to go and compass the earth: and he said Go and compass the earth. And they compassed the earth. |

When the steeds came out, they were impatient to get off and patrol the earth. And he said, "Go, patrol the earth." So they patrolled the earth. | וְהָאֲמֻצִּים יָצְאוּ וַיְבַקְשׁוּ לָלֶכֶת לְהִתְהַלֵּךְ בָּאָרֶץ
וַיֹּאמֶר לְכוּ הִתְהַלְּכוּ בָאָרֶץ וַתִּתְהַלַּכְנָה בָּאָרֶץ׃ |

καὶ ἀνεβόησεν καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρός με λέγων Ἰδοὺ οἱ ἐκπορευόμενοι ἐπὶ γῆν βορρᾶ ἀνέπαυσαν τὸν θυμόν μου ἐν γῇ βορρᾶ. |
And he cried out and spoke to me saying Behold these go out to the land of the north and they have quieted mine anger in the land of the north. |

Then he cried to me, "Behold, those who go toward the north country have set my Spirit at rest in the north country." | וַיַּזְעֵק אֹתִי וַיְדַבֵּר אֵלַי לֵאמֹר רְאֵה הַיֹּוצְאִים
אֶל־אֶרֶץ צָפֹון הֵנִיחוּ אֶת־רוּחִי בְּאֶרֶץ צָפֹון׃ ס |

Καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων |
And the word of the Lord came to me saying |
The command to crown Joshua. Zch.6.9-15 |
And the word of the LORD came to me: | וַיְהִי דְבַר־יְהוָה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר׃ |

Λαβὲ τὰ ἐκ τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας παρὰ τῶν ἀρχόντων καὶ παρὰ τῶν χρησίμων αὐτῆς καὶ παρὰ τῶν ἐπεγνωκότων αὐτὴν καὶ εἰσελεύσῃ σὺ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ εἰς τὸν οἶκον Ιωσιου τοῦ Σοφονιου τοῦ ἥκοντος ἐκ Βαβυλῶνος |
Take the things of the captivity from the chief men and from the useful men of it and from them that have understood it; and thou shalt enter in that day into the house of Josias the son of Sophonias that came out of Babylon. |

"Take from the exiles Heldai, Tobi'jah, and Jedai'ah, who have arrived from Babylon; and go the same day to the house of Josi'ah, the son of Zephani'ah. | לָקֹוחַ מֵאֵת הַגֹּולָה מֵחֶלְדַּי וּמֵאֵת טֹובִיָּה וּמֵאֵת יְדַעְיָה וּבָאתָ אַתָּה בַּיֹּום הַהוּא וּבָאתָ בֵּית יֹאשִׁיָּה בֶן־צְפַנְיָה אֲשֶׁר־בָּאוּ מִבָּבֶל׃ |

καὶ λήψῃ ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον καὶ ποιήσεις στεφάνους καὶ ἐπιθήσεις ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν Ἰησοῦ τοῦ Ιωσεδεκ τοῦ ἱερέως τοῦ μεγάλου |
And thou shalt take silver and gold and make crowns and thou shalt put [them] upon the head of Jesus the son of Josedec the high priest; |
|
Take from them silver and gold, and make a crown, and set it upon the head of Joshua, the son of Jehoz'adak, the high priest; | וְלָקַחְתָּ כֶסֶף־וְזָהָב וְעָשִׂיתָ עֲטָרֹות וְשַׂמְתָּ בְּרֹאשׁ יְהֹושֻׁעַ בֶּן־יְהֹוצָדָק הַכֹּהֵן הַגָּדֹול׃ |

| 12 |
καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτόν Τάδε λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ Ἰδοὺ ἀνήρ, Ἀνατολὴ ὄνομα αὐτῷ, καὶ ὑποκάτωθεν αὐτοῦ ἀνατελεῖ, καὶ οἰκοδομήσει τὸν οἶκον κυρίου· |
and thou shalt say to him Thus saith the Lord Almighty; Behold the man whose name is The Branch; and he shall spring up from his stem and build the house of the Lord. |

and say to him, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, "Behold, the man whose name is the Branch: for he shall grow up in his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD. | וְאָמַרְתָּ אֵלָיו לֵאמֹר כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה צְבָאֹות לֵאמֹר הִנֵּה־אִישׁ צֶמַח שְׁמֹו וּמִתַּחְתָּיו יִצְמָח וּבָנָה אֶת־הֵיכַל יְהוָה׃ |
12 |
| 13 |
καὶ αὐτὸς λήμψεται ἀρετὴν καὶ καθίεται καὶ κατάρξει ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἔσται ὁ ἱερεὺς ἐκ δεξιῶν αὐτοῦ, καὶ βουλὴ εἰρηνικὴ ἔσται ἀνὰ μέσον ἀμφοτέρων. |
And he shall receive power and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and there shall be a priest on his right hand and a peaceable counsel shall be between [them] both. |

It is he who shall build the temple of the LORD, and shall bear royal honor, and shall sit and rule upon his throne. And there shall be a priest by his throne, and peaceful understanding shall be between them both."' | וְהוּא יִבְנֶה אֶת־הֵיכַל יְהוָה וְהוּא־יִשָּׂא הֹוד וְיָשַׁב וּמָשַׁל עַל־כִּסְאֹו וְהָיָה כֹהֵן עַל־כִּסְאֹו וַעֲצַת שָׁלֹום תִּהְיֶה בֵּין שְׁנֵיהֶם׃ |
13 |
| 14 |
ὁ δὲ στέφανος ἔσται τοῖς ὑπομένουσιν καὶ τοῖς χρησίμοις αὐτῆς καὶ τοῖς ἐπεγνωκόσιν αὐτὴν καὶ εἰς χάριτα υἱοῦ Σοφονιου καὶ εἰς ψαλμὸν ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου. |
And the crown shall be to them that wait patiently and to the useful men of the captivity and to them that have known it and for the favour of the son of Sophonias and for a psalm in the house of the Lord. |
|
And the crown shall be in the temple of the LORD as a reminder to Heldai, Tobi'jah, Jedai'ah, and Josi'ah the son of Zephani'ah. | וְהָעֲטָרֹת תִּהְיֶה לְחֵלֶם וּלְטֹובִיָּה וְלִידַעְיָה וּלְחֵן בֶּן־צְפַנְיָה לְזִכָּרֹון בְּהֵיכַל יְהוָה׃ |
14 |
| 15 |
καὶ οἱ μακρὰν ἀπ' αὐτῶν ἥξουσιν καὶ οἰκοδομήσουσιν ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ κυρίου, καὶ γνώσεσθε διότι κύριος παντοκράτωρ ἀπέσταλκέν με πρὸς ὑμᾶς· καὶ ἔσται, ἐὰν εἰσακούοντες εἰσακούσητε τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν. |
And they [that are] far from them shall come and build in the house of the Lord and ye shall know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you: and [this] shall come to pass if ye will diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord your God. |

"And those who are far off shall come and help to build the temple of the LORD; and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. And this shall come to pass, if you will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God." | וּרְחֹוקִים יָבֹאוּ וּבָנוּ בְּהֵיכַל יְהוָה וִידַעְתֶּם כִּי־יְהוָה צְבָאֹות שְׁלָחַנִי אֲלֵיכֶם וְהָיָה אִם־שָׁמֹועַ תִּשְׁמְעוּן בְּקֹול יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם׃ ס |
