Καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Μιχαιαν τὸν τοῦ Μωρασθι ἐν ἡμέραις Ιωαθαμ καὶ Αχαζ καὶ Εζεκιου βασιλέων Ιουδα, ὑπὲρ ὧν εἶδεν περὶ Σαμαρείας καὶ περὶ Ιερουσαλημ. |
AND the word of the Lord came to Michaeas the son of Morasthi in the days of Joatham and Achaz and Ezekias kings of Juda |

The word of the LORD that came to Micah of Mo'resheth in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezeki'ah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Sama'ria and Jerusalem. | דְּבַר־יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר הָיָה אֶל־מִיכָה הַמֹּרַשְׁתִּי בִּימֵי יֹותָם אָחָז יְחִזְקִיָּה מַלְכֵי יְהוּדָה אֲשֶׁר־חָזָה עַל־שֹׁמְרֹון וִירוּשָׁלִָם׃ |

Ἀκούσατε, λαοί, λόγους, καὶ προσεχέτω ἡ γῆ καὶ πάντες οἱ ἐν αὐτῇ, καὶ ἔσται κύριος ἐν ὑμῖν εἰς μαρτύριον, κύριος ἐξ οἴκου ἁγίου αὐτοῦ· |
Hear [these] words ye people;
and let the earth give heed and all that are in it:
and the Lord God shall be among you for a testimony the Lord out of his holy habitation. |

Hear, you peoples, all of you;
hearken, O earth, and all that is in it;
and let the Lord GOD be a witness against you,
the Lord from his holy temple.
| שִׁמְעוּ עַמִּים כֻּלָּם הַקְשִׁיבִי אֶרֶץ וּמְלֹאָהּ
וִיהִי אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה בָּכֶם לְעֵד אֲדֹנָי מֵהֵיכַל קָדְשֹׁו׃ |

διότι ἰδοὺ κύριος ἐκπορεύεται ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτοῦ καὶ καταβήσεται καὶ ἐπιβήσεται ἐπὶ τὰ ὕψη τῆς γῆς, |
For behold the Lord comes forth out of his place and will come down and will go upon the high places of the earth. |

For behold,
the LORD is coming forth out of his place,
and will come down and tread upon the high places of the earth.
| כִּי־הִנֵּה יְהוָה יֹצֵא מִמְּקֹומֹו וְיָרַד וְדָרַךְ עַל־[כ= בָּמֹותֵי] [ק= בָּמֳתֵי] אָרֶץ׃ |

καὶ σαλευθήσεται τὰ ὄρη ὑποκάτωθεν αὐτοῦ, καὶ αἱ κοιλάδες τακήσονται ὡς κηρὸς ἀπὸ προσώπου πυρὸς καὶ ὡς ὕδωρ καταφερόμενον ἐν καταβάσει. |
And the mountains shall be shaken under him and the valleys shall melt like wax before the fire and as water rushing down a declivity. |

And the mountains will melt under him
and the valleys will be cleft,
like wax before the fire,
like waters poured down a steep place.
| וְנָמַסּוּ הֶהָרִים תַּחְתָּיו וְהָעֲמָקִים יִתְבַּקָּעוּ
כַּדֹּונַג מִפְּנֵי הָאֵשׁ כְּמַיִם מֻגָּרִים בְּמֹורָד׃ |

διὰ ἀσέβειαν Ιακωβ πάντα ταῦτα καὶ διὰ ἁμαρτίαν οἴκου Ισραηλ. τίς ἡ ἀσέβεια τοῦ Ιακωβ; οὐ Σαμάρεια; καὶ τίς ἡ ἁμαρτία οἴκου Ιουδα; οὐχὶ Ιερουσαλημ; |
All these [calamities are] for the transgression of Jacob
and for the sin of the house of Israel.
What is the transgression of Jacob?
[is it] not Samaria?
and what is the sin of the house of Juda?
[is it] not Jerusalem? |

All this is for the transgression of Jacob
and for the sins of the house of Israel.
What is the transgression of Jacob?
Is it not Sama'ria?
And what is the sin of the house of Judah?
Is it not Jerusalem?
| בְּפֶשַׁע יַעֲקֹב כָּל־זֹאת וּבְחַטֹּאות בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל
מִי־פֶשַׁע יַעֲקֹב הֲלֹוא שֹׁמְרֹון
וּמִי בָּמֹות יְהוּדָה הֲלֹוא יְרוּשָׁלִָם׃ |

καὶ θήσομαι Σαμάρειαν εἰς ὀπωροφυλάκιον ἀγροῦ καὶ εἰς φυτείαν ἀμπελῶνος καὶ κατασπάσω εἰς χάος τοὺς λίθους αὐτῆς καὶ τὰ θεμέλια αὐτῆς ἀποκαλύψω· |
Therefore I will make Samaria [as] a store-house of the fruits of the field and [as] a planting of a vineyard:
and I will utterly demolish her stones and I will expose her foundations. |

Therefore I will make Sama'ria a heap in the open country,
a place for planting vineyards;
and I will pour down her stones into the valley,
and uncover her foundations.
| וְשַׂמְתִּי שֹׁמְרֹון לְעִי הַשָּׂדֶה לְמַטָּעֵי כָרֶם
וְהִגַּרְתִּי לַגַּי אֲבָנֶיהָ וִיסֹדֶיהָ אֲגַלֶּה׃ |

καὶ πάντα τὰ γλυπτὰ αὐτῆς κατακόψουσιν καὶ πάντα τὰ μισθώματα αὐτῆς ἐμπρήσουσιν ἐν πυρί, καὶ πάντα τὰ εἴδωλα αὐτῆς θήσομαι εἰς ἀφανισμόν· διότι ἐκ μισθωμάτων πορνείας συνήγαγεν καὶ ἐκ μισθωμάτων πορνείας συνέστρεψεν. |
And they shall cut in pieces all the graven images and all that she has hired they shall burn with fire and I will utterly destroy all her idols:
because she has gathered of the hires of fornication and of the hires of fornication has she amassed [wealt |

All her images shall be beaten to pieces,
all her hires shall be burned with fire,
and all her idols I will lay waste;
for from the hire of a harlot she gathered them,
and to the hire of a harlot they shall return.
| וְכָל־פְּסִילֶיהָ יֻכַּתּוּ וְכָל־אֶתְנַנֶּיהָ יִשָּׂרְפוּ בָאֵשׁ וְכָל־עֲצַבֶּיהָ אָשִׂים שְׁמָמָה כִּי מֵאֶתְןַן זֹונָה קִבָּצָה וְעַד־אֶתְןַן זֹונָה יָשׁוּבוּ׃ |

Ἕνεκεν τούτου κόψεται καὶ θρηνήσει, πορεύσεται ἀνυπόδετος καὶ γυμνή, ποιήσεται κοπετὸν ὡς δρακόντων καὶ πένθος ὡς θυγατέρων σειρήνων· |
Therefore shall she lament and wail she shall go barefooted and [being] naked she shall make lamentation as [that] of serpents and mourning as of the daughters of sirens. |
|
For this I will lament and wail;
I will go stripped and naked;
I will make lamentation like the jackals,
and mourning like the ostriches.
| עַל־זֹאת אֶסְפְּדָה וְאֵילִילָה אֵילְכָה [כ= שִׁילַל] [ק= שֹׁולָל] וְעָרֹום
אֶעֱשֶׂה מִסְפֵּד כַּתַּנִּים וְאֵבֶל כִּבְנֹות יַעֲנָה׃ |

ὅτι κατεκράτησεν ἡ πληγὴ αὐτῆς, διότι ἦλθεν ἕως Ιουδα καὶ ἥψατο ἕως πύλης λαοῦ μου, ἕως Ιερουσαλημ. |
For her plague has become grievous; for it has come even to Juda;
and has reached to the gate of my people
even to Jerusalem. |

For her wound is incurable;
and it has come to Judah,
it has reached to the gate of my people,
to Jerusalem.
| כִּי אֲנוּשָׁה מַכֹּותֶיהָ כִּי־בָאָה עַד־יְהוּדָה
נָגַע עַד־שַׁעַר עַמִּי עַד־יְרוּשָׁלִָם׃ |

οἱ ἐν Γεθ, μὴ μεγαλύνεσθε· οἱ ἐν Ακιμ, μὴ ἀνοικοδομεῖτε ἐξ οἴκου κατὰ γέλωτα, γῆν καταπάσασθε κατὰ γέλωτα ὑμῶν. |
Ye that are in Geth exalt not yourselves and ye Enakim do not rebuild from [the ruins of] the house in derision: sprinkle dust [in the place of] your laughter. |
The enemy approaches Jerusalem. Mic.1.10.16 |
Tell it not in Gath,
weep not at all;
in Beth-le-aph'rah
roll yourselves in the dust.
| בְּגַת אַל־תַּגִּידוּ בָּכֹו אַל־תִּבְכּוּ
בְּבֵית לְעַפְרָה עָפָר [כ= הִתְפַּלָּשְׁתִּי] [ק= הִתְפַּלָּשִׁי]׃ |

κατοικοῦσα καλῶς τὰς πόλεις αὐτῆς οὐκ ἐξῆλθεν κατοικοῦσα Σεννααν κόψασθαι οἶκον ἐχόμενον αὐτῆς, λήμψεται ἐξ ὑμῶν πληγὴν ὀδύνης. |
The inhabitant of Sennaar fairly inhabiting her cities came not forth to mourn for the house next to her:
she shall receive of you the stroke of grief. |
|
Pass on your way,
inhabitants of Shaphir,
in nakedness and shame;
the inhabitants of Za'anan
do not come forth;
the wailing of Beth-e'zel
shall take away from you its standing place.
| עִבְרִי לָכֶם יֹושֶׁבֶת שָׁפִיר
עֶרְיָה־בֹשֶׁת לֹא יָצְאָה יֹושֶׁבֶת צַאֲןָן
מִסְפַּד בֵּית הָאֵצֶל יִקַּח םִכֶּם עֶמְדָּתֹו׃ |
11 |

τίς ἤρξατο εἰς ἀγαθὰ κατοικούσῃ ὀδύνας; ὅτι κατέβη κακὰ παρὰ κυρίου ἐπὶ πύλας Ιερουσαλημ, |
Who has begun [to act] for good to her that dwells in sorrow?
for calamities have come down from the Lord upon the gates of Jerusalem |

For the inhabitants of Maroth
wait anxiously for good,
because evil has come down from the LORD
to the gate of Jerusalem.
| כִּי־חָלָה לְטֹוב יֹושֶׁבֶת מָרֹות
כִּי־יָרַד רָע מֵאֵת יְהוָה לְשַׁעַר יְרוּשָׁלִָם׃ |
12 |

ψόφος ἁρμάτων καὶ ἱππευόντων. κατοικοῦσα Λαχις, ἀρχηγὸς ἁμαρτίας αὐτή ἐστιν τῇ θυγατρὶ Σιων, ὅτι ἐν σοὶ εὑρέθησαν ἀσέβειαι τοῦ Ισραηλ. |
[even] a sound of chariots and horsemen:
the inhabitants of Lachis she is the leader of sin to the daughter of Sion:
for in thee were found the transgressions of Israel. |
|
Harness the steeds to the chariots,
inhabitants of Lachish;
you were the beginning of sin
to the daughter of Zion,
for in you were found
the transgressions of Israel.
| רְתֹם הַמֶּרְכָּבָה לָרֶכֶשׁ יֹושֶׁבֶת לָכִישׁ
רֵאשִׁית חַטָּאת הִיא לְבַת־צִיֹּון
כִּי־בָךְ נִמְצְאוּ פִּשְׁעֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ |
13 |

διὰ τοῦτο δώσεις ἐξαποστελλομένους ἕως κληρονομίας Γεθ οἴκους ματαίους· εἰς κενὰ ἐγένετο τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν τοῦ Ισραηλ. |
Therefore shall he cause men to be sent forth as far as the inheritance of Geth [even] vain houses;
they are become vanity to the kings of Israel; |
|
Therefore you shall give parting gifts
to Mo'resheth-gath;
the houses of Achzib shall be a deceitful thing
to the kings of Israel.
| לָכֵן תִּתְּנִי שִׁלּוּחִים עַל מֹורֶשֶׁת גַּת
בָּתֵּי אַכְזִיב לְאַכְזָב לְמַלְכֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ |
14 |
| 15 |
ἕως τοὺς κληρονόμους ἀγάγω σοι, κατοικοῦσα Λαχις κληρονομία, ἕως Οδολλαμ ἥξει ἡ δόξα τῆς θυγατρὸς Ισραηλ. |
until they bring the heirs O inhabitant of Lachis:
the inheritance shall reach to Odollam [even] the glory of the daughter of Israel. |
|
I will again bring a conqueror upon you,
inhabitants of Mare'shah;
the glory of Israel
shall come to Adullam.
| עֹד הַיֹּרֵשׁ אָבִי לָךְ יֹושֶׁבֶת מָרֵשָׁה
עַד־עֲדֻלָּם יָבֹוא כְּבֹוד יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ |
15 |
| 16 |
ξύρησαι καὶ κεῖραι ἐπὶ τὰ τέκνα τὰ τρυφερά σου, ἐμπλάτυνον τὴν χηρείαν σου ὡς ἀετός, ὅτι ᾐχμαλωτεύθησαν ἀπὸ σοῦ. |
Shave thine hair and make thyself bald for thy delicate children;
increase thy widowhood as an eagle;
for [thy people] are gone into captivity from thee. |
|
Make yourselves bald and cut off your hair,
for the children of your delight;
make yourselves as bald as the eagle,
for they shall go from you into exile. | קָרְחִי וָגֹזִּי עַל־בְּנֵי תַּעֲנוּגָיִךְ
הַרְחִבִי קָרְחָתֵךְ כַּנֶּשֶׁר כִּי גָלוּ מִמֵּךְ׃ ס |
