2 Υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, ἐπίστρεψον τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐπ' ὄρος Σηιρ καὶ προφήτευσον ἐπ' αὐτὸ Son of man set thy face against mount Seir and prophesy against it   "Son of man, set your face against Mount Se'ir, and prophesy against it,בֶּן־אָדָם שִׂים פָּנֶיךָ עַל־הַר שֵׂעִיר וְהִנָּבֵא עָלָיו׃ 2
3 καὶ εἰπόν Τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπὶ σέ, ὄρος Σηιρ, καὶ ἐκτενῶ τὴν χεῖρά μου ἐπὶ σὲ καὶ δώσω σε ἔρημον, καὶ ἐρημωθήσῃ, and say to it Thus saith the Lord God; Behold I am against thee O mount Seir and I will stretch out my hand against thee   and say to it, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, Mount Se'ir, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you a desolation and a waste.

Therefore as I live saith the Lord God verily thou hast sinned even to blood therefore blood shall pursue thee.   therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; because you are guilty of blood, therefore blood shall pursue you.
7 καὶ δώσω τὸ ὄρος Σηιρ εἰς ἔρημον καὶ ἠρημωμένον καὶ ἀπολῶ ἀπ' αὐτοῦ ἀνθρώπους καὶ κτήνη And I will make mount Seir a waste and desolate and I will destroy from off it men and cattle:   I will make Mount Se'ir a waste and a desolation; and I will cut off from it all who come and go.
8 καὶ ἐμπλήσω τῶν τραυματιῶν σου τοὺς βουνοὺς καὶ τὰς φάραγγάς σου, καὶ ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς πεδίοις σου τετραυματισμένοι μαχαίρᾳ πεσοῦνται ἐν σοί. and I will fill thy hills and thy valleys with slain men and in all thy plains there shall fall in thee men slain with the sword.   And I will fill your mountains with the slain; on your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines those slain with the sword shall fall.

10 διὰ τὸ εἰπεῖν σε Τὰ δύο ἔθνη καὶ αἱ δύο χῶραι ἐμαὶ ἔσονται καὶ κληρονομήσω αὐτάς, καὶ κύριος ἐκεῖ ἐστιν, Because thou saidst The two nations and the two countries shall be mine and I shall inherit them; whereas the Lord is there:   "Because you said, 'These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will take possession of them,' - although the LORD was there -יַעַן אֲמָרְךָ אֶת־שְׁנֵי הַגֹּויִם וְאֶת־שְׁתֵּי הָאֲרָצֹות לִי תִהְיֶינָה וִירַשְׁנוּהָ וַיהוָה שָׁם הָיָה׃ 10
11 διὰ τοῦτο, ζῶ ἐγώ, λέγει κύριος, καὶ ποιήσω σοι κατὰ τὴν ἔχθραν σου καὶ γνωσθήσομαί σοι, ἡνίκα ἂν κρίνω σε· therefore [as] I live saith the Lord I will even deal with thee according to thine enmity and I will be made known to thee when I shall judge thee:   therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, I will deal with you according to the anger and envy which you showed because of your hatred against them; and I will make myself known among you, when I judge you.
ἤκουσα τῆς φωνῆς τῶν βλασφημιῶν σου, ὅτι εἶπας Τὰ ὄρη Ισραηλ ἔρημα, ἡμῖν δέδοται εἰς κατάβρωμα· and thou shalt know that I am the Lord. I have heard the voice of thy blasphemies whereas thou hast said The desert mountains of Israel are given to us for food;   And you shall know that I, the LORD, have heard all the revilings which you uttered against the mountains of Israel, saying, 'They are laid desolate, they are given us to devour.'

Thou shalt be desert O mount Seir and all Idumea; and it shall be utterly consumed: and thou shalt know that I am the Lord their God.   As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so I will deal with you; you shall be desolate, Mount Se'ir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the LORD.

Notes: Format: For the canonical books the parallel passages on this page are seven columns width, reducing to four columns for the Apocrypha - Deuterocanonical books.
Printing: For the most readable option, set your printer to a Landscape setting before printing the page.
The Old Testament in Greek is Rahlf's LXX available in Word format at the Tyndale website, adapted to database format.
The alternative readings of the LXX - Judges (Alexandrinus), Daniel, Susanna & Bel (LXX received text), and Tobit (Sinaiticus [not printed in Swete]) as separate book references so that they can be viewed as an alternative text in parallel with the primary text.
(I have reversed the Swete presentation for Daniel, Susanna, Bel by listing in the later Theodotion LXX text as the main text. )
The LXX cross references to the Hebrew Bible have been extensively revised using those set out in Swete's 'Old Testament in Greek' publications between 1894 and 1909, amended in part to agree with verses as printed in the Biblia Hebraica (1937 publication).
Some verse cross references in Swete's had to be amended to agree with the BHS verse numbering, and there may well be some mismatches that I haven't yet picked up on. (If you find any errors please e-mail me.)
Hebrew Bible has been adapted from the BHS in Word format at Tyndale.
The Septuagint in English ( translated by Sir Lancelot CL Brenton) - is used here only for the books of the Hebrew Bible.
The Revised Standard Version: This generally follows the Hebrew Bible for the canonical OT,
but use this as the English Text for the remainder of the LXX (Apocrypha - Deuterocanonical books).
The katapi New Study Bible reference section: displays links to parallel passages.
Passage headings are generally as printed in the Bible Society's "Good News Bible", 1976.
