Ἑγὼ ἄνθος τοῦ πεδίου,
κρίνον τῶν κοιλάδων.
|
I am a flower of the plain,
a lily of the valleys. |
|
I am a rose of Sharon,
a lily of the valleys.
| אֲנִי חֲבַצֶּלֶת הַשָּׁרֹון שֹׁושַׁנַּת הָעֲמָקִים׃ |

Ὡς κρίνον ἐν μέσῳ ἀκανθῶν,
οὕτως ἡ πλησίον μου ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν θυγατέρων.
|
As a lily among thorns,
so is my companion among the daughters. |

As a lily among brambles,
so is my love among maidens.

Ὡς μῆλον ἐν τοῖς ξύλοις τοῦ δρυμοῦ,
οὕτως ἀδελφιδός μου ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν υἱῶν·
ἐν τῇ σκιᾷ αὐτοῦ ἐπεθύμησα καὶ ἐκάθισα,
καὶ καρπὸς αὐτοῦ γλυκὺς ἐν λάρυγγί μου.
|
As the apple among the trees of the wood,
so is my kinsman among the sons.
I desired his shadow, and sat down,
and his fruit was sweet in my throat. |
She. Sg.2.3-7 |
As an apple tree among the trees of the wood,
so is my beloved among young men.
With great delight I sat in his shadow,
and his fruit was sweet to my taste.
| כְּתַפּוּחַ בַּעֲצֵי הַיַּעַר כֵּן דֹּודִי בֵּין הַבָּנִים בְּצִלֹּו חִמַּדְתִּי וְיָשַׁבְתִּי וּפִרְיֹו מָתֹוק לְחִכִּי׃ |

Εἰσαγάγετέ με εἰς οἶκον τοῦ οἴνου,
τάξατε ἐπ' ἐμὲ ἀγάπην.
|
Bring me into the wine house;
set love before me. |
|
He brought me to the banqueting house,
and his banner over me was love.
| הֱבִיאַנִי אֶל־בֵּית הַיָּיִן וְדִגְלֹו עָלַי אַהֲבָה׃ |

στηρίσατέ με ἐν ἀμόραις,
στοιβάσατέ με ἐν μήλοις, ὅτι τετρωμένη ἀγάπης ἐγώ.
|
Strengthen me with perfumes,
stay me with apples: for I [am] wounded with love. |
|
Sustain me with raisins,
refresh me with apples;
for I am sick with love.
| סַמְּכוּנִי בָּאֲשִׁישֹׁות רַפְּדוּנִי בַּתַּפּוּחִים כִּי־חֹולַת אַהֲבָה אָנִי׃ |

εὐώνυμος αὐτοῦ ὑπὸ τὴν κεφαλήν μου,
καὶ ἡ δεξιὰ αὐτοῦ περιλήμψεταί με.
|
His left [hand shall be] under my head,
and his right hand shall embrace me. |
|
O that his left hand were under my head,
and that his right hand embraced me!
| שְׂמֹאלֹו תַּחַת לְרֹאשִׁי וִימִינֹו תְּחַבְּקֵנִי׃ |

ὥρκισα ὑμᾶς, θυγατέρες Ιερουσαλημ,
ἐν ταῖς δυνάμεσιν καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἰσχύσεσιν τοῦ ἀγροῦ,
ἐὰν ἐγείρητε καὶ ἐξεγείρητε τὴν ἀγάπην, ἕως οὗ θελήσῃ.
|
I have charged you, ye daughters of Jerusalem,
by the powers and by the virtues of the field,
that ye do not rouse or wake [my] love, until he please. |
|
I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem,
by the gazelles or the hinds of the field,
that you stir not up nor awaken love until it please.
| הִשְׁבַּעְתִּי אֶתְכֶם בְּנֹות יְרוּשָׁלִַם בִּצְבָאֹות אֹו בְּאַיְלֹות הַשָּׂדֶה אִם־תָּעִירוּ וְאִם־תְּעֹורְרוּ אֶת־הָאַהֲבָה עַד שֶׁתֶּחְפָּץ׃ ס |

Φωνὴ ἀδελφιδοῦ μου·
ἰδοὺ οὗτος ἥκει πηδῶν ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη,
διαλλόμενος ἐπὶ τοὺς βουνούς.
|
The voice of my kinsman!
behold, he comes leaping over the mountains,
bounding over the hills. |

Behold, he comes,
leaping upon the mountains,
bounding over the hills.
| קֹול דֹּודִי הִנֵּה־זֶה בָּא מְדַלֵּג עַל־הֶהָרִים מְקַפֵּץ עַל־הַגְּבָעֹות׃ |

ὅμοιός ἐστιν ἀδελφιδός μου τῇ δορκάδι
ἢ νεβρῷ ἐλάφων ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη Βαιθηλ.
ἰδοὺ οὗτος ἕστηκεν ὀπίσω τοῦ τοίχου ἡμῶν,
παρακύπτων διὰ τῶν θυρίδων
ἐκκύπτων διὰ τῶν δικτύων.

My kinsman is like a roe or a young hart on the mountains of Baethel:
behold, he is behind our wall,
looking through the windows,
peeping through the lattices. |
|
My beloved is like a gazelle, or a young stag.
Behold, there he stands behind our wall,
gazing in at the windows,
looking through the lattice.
| דֹּומֶה דֹודִי לִצְבִי אֹו לְעֹפֶר הָאַיָּלִים הִנֵּה־זֶה עֹומֵד אַחַר כָּתְלֵנוּ מַשְׁגִּיחַ מִן־הַחֲלֹּנֹות מֵצִיץ מִן־הַחֲרַכִּים׃ |

ἀποκρίνεται ἀδελφιδός μου καὶ λέγει μοι
Ἀνάστα ἐλθέ, ἡ πλησίον μου, καλή μου, περιστερά μου,
|
My kinsman answers, and says to me,
Rise up, come, my companion, my fair one, my dove. |
He. Sg.2.10-15 |
My beloved speaks and says to me:
"Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away;
| עָנָה דֹודִי וְאָמַר לִי קוּמִי לָךְ רַעְיָתִי יָפָתִי וּלְכִי־לָךְ׃ |

ὅτι ἰδοὺ ὁ χειμὼν παρῆλθεν,
ὁ ὑετὸς ἀπῆλθεν, ἐπορεύθη ἑαυτῷ,
|
For, behold, the winter is past,
the rain is gone, it has departed. |
|
for lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone.
| כִּי־הִנֵּה [כ= הַסְּתֹו] [ק= הַסְּתָיו] עָבָר הַגֶּשֶׁם חָלַף הָלַךְ לֹו׃ |

τὰ ἄνθη ὤφθη ἐν τῇ γῇ,
καιρὸς τῆς τομῆς ἔφθακεν,
φωνὴ τοῦ τρυγόνος ἠκούσθη ἐν τῇ γῇ ἡμῶν,
|
The flowers are seen in the land;
the time of pruning has arrived;
the voice of the turtle-dove has been heard in our land. |
|
The flowers appear on the earth,
the time of singing has come,
and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.
| הַנִּצָּנִים נִרְאוּ בָאָרֶץ עֵת הַזָּמִיר הִגִּיעַ וְקֹול הַתֹּור נִשְׁמַע בְּאַרְצֵנוּ׃ |

ἡ συκῆ ἐξήνεγκεν ὀλύνθους αὐτῆς,
αἱ ἄμπελοι κυπρίζουσιν, ἔδωκαν ὀσμήν.
ἀνάστα ἐλθέ, ἡ πλησίον μου, καλή μου, περιστερά μου,
|
The fig-tree has put forth its young figs,
the vines put forth the tender grape, they yield a smell:
arise, come, my companion, my fair one, my dove; yea, come. |
|
The fig tree puts forth its figs,
and the vines are in blossom;
they give forth fragrance.
Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.
| הַתְּאֵנָה חָנְטָה פַגֶּיהָ וְהַגְּפָנִים סְמָדַר נָתְנוּ רֵיחַ קוּמִי [כ= לְכִי] [ק= לָךְ] רַעְיָתִי יָפָתִי וּלְכִי־לָךְ׃ ס |

καὶ ἐλθὲ σύ, περιστερά μου ἐν σκέπῃ τῆς πέτρας,
ἐχόμενα τοῦ προτειχίσματος,
δεῖξόν μοι τὴν ὄψιν σου
καὶ ἀκούτισόν με τὴν φωνήν σου,
ὅτι ἡ φωνή σου ἡδεῖα, καὶ ἡ ὄψις σου ὡραία.
|
[Thou art] my dove, in the shelter of the rock, near the wall:
shew me thy face,
and cause me to hear thy voice;
for thy voice is sweet,
and thy countenance is beautiful. |
|
O my dove, in the clefts of the rock,
in the covert of the cliff,
let me see your face,
let me hear your voice,
for your voice is sweet,
and your face is comely.
| יֹונָתִי בְּחַגְוֵי הַסֶּלַע בְּסֵתֶר הַמַּדְרֵגָה הַרְאִינִי אֶת־מַרְאַיִךְ הַשְׁמִיעִינִי אֶת־קֹולֵךְ כִּי־קֹולֵךְ עָרֵב וּמַרְאֵיךְ נָאוֶה׃ ס |

Πιάσατε ἡμῖν ἀλώπεκας μικροὺς ἀφανίζοντας ἀμπελῶνας,
καὶ αἱ ἄμπελοι ἡμῶν κυπρίζουσιν.
|
Take us the little foxes that spoil the vines:
for our vines put forth tender grapes. |
|
Catch us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vineyards,
for our vineyards are in blossom."
| אֶחֱזוּ־לָנוּ שׁוּעָלִים שׁוּעָלִים קְטַנִּים מְחַבְּלִים כְּרָמִים וּכְרָמֵינוּ סְמָדַר׃ |

Ἀδελφιδός μου ἐμοί,
κἀγὼ αὐτῷ, ὁ ποιμαίνων ἐν τοῖς κρίνοις,
|
My kinsman is mine, and I am his:
he feeds [his flock] among the lilies. |
She. Sg.2.16-3.5 |
My beloved is mine and I am his,
he pastures his flock among the lilies.
| דֹּודִי לִי וַאֲנִי לֹו הָרֹעֶה בַּשֹּׁושַׁנִּים׃ |

ἕως οὗ διαπνεύσῃ ἡ ἡμέρα καὶ κινηθῶσιν αἱ σκιαί.
ἀπόστρεψον ὁμοιώθητι σύ, ἀδελφιδέ μου,
τῷ δόρκωνι ἢ νεβρῷ ἐλάφων
ἐπὶ ὄρη κοιλωμάτων.
|
Until the day dawn, and the shadows depart,
turn, my kinsman,
be thou like to a roe or young hart
on the mountains of the ravines. |
|
Until the day breathes and the shadows flee,
turn, my beloved, be like a gazelle,
or a young stag upon rugged mountains.
| עַד שֶׁיָּפוּחַ הַיֹּום וְנָסוּ הַצְּלָלִים סֹב דְּמֵה־לְךָ דֹודִי לִצְבִי אֹו לְעֹפֶר הָאַיָּלִים עַל־הָרֵי בָתֶר׃ ס |
