| 1 |
|
For the end, Psalm of David.
The fool has said in his heart There is no God.
They have corrupted [themselves] and become abominable in their devices;
there is none that does goodness there is not even so much as one. |
A Prayer of Confidence. Psalm 14(v13) |
The fool says in his heart,
"There is no God."
They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds,
there is none that does good.
| |
|
| 2 |
|
The Lord looked down from heaven upon the sons of men
to see if there were any that understood or sought after god. |
|
The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men,
to see if there are any that act wisely, that seek after God.
|
They are all gone out of the way they are together become good for nothing
there is none that does good no not one.
Their throat is an open sepulchre;
with their tongues they have used deceit;
the poison of asps is under their lips:
whose mouth |
|
They have all gone astray, they are all alike corrupt;
there is none that does good, no, not one.

οἱ κατεσθίοντες τὸν λαόν μου βρώσει ἄρτου;
|
Will not all the workers of iniquity know who eat up my people as they would eat bread?
they have not called upon the Lord. |
|
Have they no knowledge,
all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread,
and do not call upon the LORD?
|
There were they alarmed with fear where there was no fear;
for God is in the righteous generation. |
|
There they shall be in great terror,
for God is with the generation of the righteous.
|
Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor
because the Lord is his hope. |
|
You would confound the plans of the poor,
but the LORD is his refuge.

| 7 |
τίς δώσει ἐκ Σιων τὸ σωτήριον τοῦ Ισραηλ;
|
Who will bring the salvation of Israel out of Sion?
when the Lord brings back the captivity of his people
let Jacob exult and Israel be glad. |
|
O that deliverance for Israel would come out of Zion!
When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people,
Jacob shall rejoice, Israel shall be glad. |
