| 1 | Καὶ οὗτοι οἱ ἐλθόντες πρὸς Δαυιδ εἰς Σωκλαγ, ἔτι συνεχομένου ἀπὸ προσώπου Σαουλ υἱοῦ Κις, καὶ οὗτοι ἐν τοῖς δυνατοῖς βοηθοῦντες ἐν πολέμῳ |
And these [are] they that came to Sikelag when he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kis; and these [were] among the mighty aiding [him] in war | David's Benjamite soldiers. 1Chr.12.1-7 |
| 2 | καὶ τόξῳ ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ ἐξ ἀριστερῶν καὶ σφενδονῆται ἐν λίθοις καὶ τόξοις· ἐκ τῶν ἀδελφῶν Σαουλ ἐκ Βενιαμιν |
and [using] the bow with the right hand and with the left and slingers with stones and [shooters] with bows. Of the brethren of Saul of Benjamin | |

the chief [was] Achiezer and Joas son of Asma the Gabathite and Joel and Jophalet sons of Asmoth and Berchia | |
| 4 | καὶ Σαμαιας ὁ Γαβαωνίτης δυνατὸς ἐν τοῖς τριάκοντα καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν τριάκοντα, Ιερμιας καὶ Ιεζιηλ καὶ Ιωαναν καὶ Ιωζαβαδ ὁ Γαδαραθι, |
and Samaias the Gabaonite a mighty man among the thirty and over the thirty; [and] Jeremia and Jeziel and Joanan and Jozabath of Gadarathiim | |
| 5 | Ἀζαι καὶ Ιαριμουθ καὶ Βααλια καὶ Σαμαρια καὶ Σαφατια ὁ Χαραιφι, |
Azai and Arimuth and Baalia and Samaraia and Saphatias of Charaephiel | |
| 6 | Ηλκανα καὶ Ιησουνι καὶ Οζριηλ καὶ Ιωαζαρ καὶ Ιεσβοαμ οἱ Κορῖται |
Helcana and Jesuni and Ozriel and Jozara and Sobocam | |
| 7 | καὶ Ελια καὶ Ζαβαδια υἱοὶ Ιρααμ υἱοὶ τοῦ γεδωρ. - |
and Jelia and Zabadia sons of Iroam and the [men] of Gedor. | |
| 8 | καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ Γαδδι ἐχωρίσθησαν πρὸς Δαυιδ ἀπὸ τῆς ἐρήμου ἰσχυροὶ δυνατοὶ ἄνδρες παρατάξεως πολέμου αἴροντες θυρεοὺς καὶ δόρατα, καὶ πρόσωπον λέοντος πρόσωπα αὐτῶν, καὶ κοῦφοι ὡς δορκάδες ἐπὶ τῶν ὀρέων τῷ τάχει· |
And from Gad these separated themselves to David from the wilderness strong mighty men of war bearing shields and spears and their faces [were as] the face of a lion and they were nimble as roes upon the mountains in speed. | David's Soldiers from Gad. 1Chr.12.8-15 |

| 14 | οὗτοι ἐκ τῶν υἱῶν Γαδ ἄρχοντες τῆς στρατιᾶς, εἷς τοῖς ἑκατὸν μικρὸς καὶ μέγας τοῖς χιλίοις. |
These [were] chiefs of the army of the sons of Gad the least one commander of a hundred and the greatest one of a thousand. | |
| 15 | οὗτοι οἱ διαβάντες τὸν Ιορδάνην ἐν τῷ μηνὶ τῷ πρώτῳ, καὶ οὗτος πεπληρωκὼς ἐπὶ πᾶσαν κρηπῖδα αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐξεδίωξαν πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας αὐλῶνας ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν ἕως δυσμῶν. - |
These [are] the [men] that crossed over Jordan in the first month and it had overflowed all its banks; and they drove out all the inhabitants of the valleys from the east to the west. | |
| 16 | καὶ ἦλθον ἀπὸ τῶν υἱῶν Βενιαμιν καὶ Ιουδα εἰς βοήθειαν τοῦ Δαυιδ, |
And there came [some] of the sons of Benjamin and Juda to the assistance of David. | The soldiers from Benjamin & Judah. 1Chr.12.16-18 |
| 17 | καὶ Δαυιδ ἐξῆλθεν εἰς ἀπάντησιν αὐτῶν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Εἰ εἰς εἰρήνην ἥκατε πρός με, εἴη μοι καρδία καθ' ἑαυτὴν ἐφ' ὑμᾶς· καὶ εἰ τοῦ παραδοῦναί με τοῖς ἐχθροῖς μου οὐκ ἐν ἀληθείᾳ χειρός, ἴδοι ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων ἡμῶν καὶ ἐλέγξαιτο. |
And David went out to meet them and said to them If ye are come peaceably to me let my heart be at peace with you: but if [ye are come] to betray me to my enemies unfaithfully the God of your fathers look upon it | |
| 18 | καὶ πνεῦμα ἐνέδυσε τὸν Αμασαι ἄρχοντα τῶν τριάκοντα, καὶ εἶπεν Πορεύου καὶ ὁ λαός σου, Δαυιδ υἱὸς Ιεσσαι·
εἰρήνη εἰρήνη σοι, καὶ εἰρήνη τοῖς βοηθοῖς σου·
ὅτι ἐβοήθησέν σοι ὁ θεός σου. καὶ προσεδέξατο αὐτοὺς Δαυιδ καὶ κατέστησεν αὐτοὺς ἄρχοντας τῶν δυνάμεων. |
And the Spirit came upon Amasai a captain of the thirty and he said Go David | The soldiers from Manasseh. 1Chr.12.18-22 |
| 19 | καὶ ἀπὸ Μανασση προσεχώρησαν πρὸς Δαυιδ ἐν τῷ ἐλθεῖν τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους ἐπὶ Σαουλ εἰς πόλεμον· καὶ οὐκ ἐβοήθησεν αὐτοῖς, ὅτι ἐν βουλῇ ἐγένετο παρὰ τῶν στρατηγῶν τῶν ἀλλοφύλων λεγόντων Ἑν ταῖς κεφαλαῖς τῶν ἀνδρῶν ἐκείνων ἐπιστρέψει πρὸς τὸν κύριον αὐτοῦ Σαουλ· |
And [some] came to David from Manasse when the Philistines came against Saul to war: and he helped them not because the captains of the Philistines took counsel saying With the heads of those men will he return to his master Saul. | |
| 20 | ἐν τῷ πορευθῆναι αὐτὸν εἰς Σωκλαγ προσεχώρησαν αὐτῷ ἀπὸ Μανασση Εδνα καὶ Ιωζαβαθ καὶ Ιωδιηλ καὶ Μιχαηλ καὶ Ιωσαβεθ καὶ Ελιμουθ καὶ Σελαθι, ἀρχηγοὶ χιλιάδων εἰσὶν τοῦ Μανασση. |
When David was going to Sikelag there came to him of Manasse Edna and Jozabath and Rodiel and Michael | |
| 21 | καὶ αὐτοὶ συνεμάχησαν τῷ Δαυιδ ἐπὶ τὸν γεδδουρ, ὅτι δυνατοὶ ἰσχύος πάντες καὶ ἦσαν ἡγούμενοι ἐν τῇ στρατιᾷ ἐν τῇ δυνάμει· |
And they fought on the side of David against a troop for they [were] all men of might; and they were commanders in the army [because] of [their] might. | |
| 22 | ὅτι ἡμέραν ἐξ ἡμέρας ἤρχοντο πρὸς Δαυιδ εἰς δύναμιν μεγάλην ὡς δύναμις θεοῦ. |
For daily men came to David [till they amounted] to a great force as the force of God. | |
| 23 | Καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν ἀρχόντων τῆς στρατιᾶς, οἱ ἐλθόντες πρὸς Δαυιδ εἰς Χεβρων τοῦ ἀποστρέψαι τὴν βασιλείαν Σαουλ πρὸς αὐτὸν κατὰ τὸν λόγον κυρίου. |
And these [are] the names of the commanders of the army who came to David to Chebron to turn the kingdom of Saul to him according to the word of the Lord. | David's forces. 1Chr.12.23-40 |
| 24 | υἱοὶ Ιουδα θυρεοφόροι καὶ δορατοφόροι ἓξ χιλιάδες καὶ ὀκτακόσιοι δυνατοὶ παρατάξεως. |
The sons of Juda bearing shields and spears six thousand and eight hundred mighty in war. | |
| 25 | τῶν υἱῶν Συμεων δυνατοὶ ἰσχύος εἰς παράταξιν ἑπτὰ χιλιάδες καὶ ἑκατόν. |
Of the sons of Symeon mighty for battle seven thousand and a hundred. | |
| 26 | τῶν υἱῶν Λευι τετρακισχίλιοι ἑξακόσιοι· |
Of the sons of Levi four thousand and six hundred. | |
| 27 | καὶ Τωαδαε ὁ ἡγούμενος τῷ Ααρων καὶ μετ' αὐτοῦ τρεῖς χιλιάδες καὶ ἑπτακόσιοι· |
And Joadas the chief [of the family] of Aaron and with him three thousand and seven hundred. | |
| 28 | καὶ Σαδωκ νέος δυνατὸς ἰσχύι καὶ τῆς πατρικῆς οἰκίας αὐτοῦ ἄρχοντες εἴκοσι δύο. |
And Sadoc a young [man] mighty in strength and [there were] twenty-two leaders of his father's house. | |
| 29 | καὶ ἐκ τῶν υἱῶν Βενιαμιν τῶν ἀδελφῶν Σαουλ τρεῖς χιλιάδες· καὶ ἔτι τὸ πλεῖστον αὐτῶν ἀπεσκόπει τὴν φυλακὴν οἴκου Σαουλ. |
And of the sons of Benjamin the brethren of Saul three thousand: and still the greater part of them kept the guard of the house of Saul. | |
| 30 | καὶ ἀπὸ υἱῶν Εφραιμ εἴκοσι χιλιάδες καὶ ὀκτακόσιοι, δυνατοὶ ἰσχύι, ἄνδρες ὀνομαστοὶ κατ' οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν. |
And of the sons of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred mighty men famous in the houses of their fathers. | |
| 31 | καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἡμίσους φυλῆς Μανασση δέκα ὀκτὼ χιλιάδες, οἳ ὠνομάσθησαν ἐν ὀνόματι τοῦ βασιλεῦσαι τὸν Δαυιδ. |
And of the half-tribe of Manasse eighteen thousand even [those] who were named by name to make David king. | |
| 32 | καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν υἱῶν Ισσαχαρ γινώσκοντες σύνεσιν εἰς τοὺς καιρούς, γινώσκοντες τί ποιήσαι Ισραηλ εἰς τὰς ἀρχὰς αὐτῶν, διακόσιοι, καὶ πάντες ἀδελφοὶ αὐτῶν μετ' αὐτῶν. |
And of the sons of Issachar having wisdom with regard to the times knowing what Israel should do two hundred; and all their brethren with them. | |
| 33 | καὶ ἀπὸ Ζαβουλων ἐκπορευόμενοι εἰς παράταξιν πολέμου ἐν πᾶσιν σκεύεσιν πολεμικοῖς πεντήκοντα χιλιάδες βοηθῆσαι τῷ Δαυιδ οὐχ ἑτεροκλινῶς. |
And of Zabulon they that went out to battle with all weapons of war [were] fifty thousand to help David not weak-handed. | |
| 34 | καὶ ἀπὸ Νεφθαλι ἄρχοντες χίλιοι καὶ μετ' αὐτῶν ἐν θυρεοῖς καὶ δόρασιν τριάκοντα ἑπτὰ χιλιάδες. |
And of Nephthali a thousand captains and with them [men] with shields and spears thirty-seven thousand. | |
| 35 | καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν Δανιτῶν παρατασσόμενοι εἰς πόλεμον εἴκοσι ὀκτὼ χιλιάδες καὶ ὀκτακόσιοι. |
And of the Danites [men] ready for war twenty-eight thousand and eight hundred. | |
| 36 | καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ Ασηρ ἐκπορευόμενοι βοηθῆσαι εἰς πόλεμον τεσσαράκοντα χιλιάδες. |
And of Aser they that went out to give aid in war forty thousand. | |
| 37 | καὶ ἐκ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἀπὸ Ρουβην καὶ Γαδδι καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἡμίσους φυλῆς Μανασση ἐν πᾶσιν σκεύεσιν πολεμικοῖς ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι χιλιάδες. |
And from the country beyond Jordan from Ruben and the Gadites and from the half-tribe of Manasse a hundred and twenty thousand | |
| 38 | πάντες οὗτοι ἄνδρες πολεμισταὶ παρατασσόμενοι παράταξιν ἐν ψυχῇ εἰρηνικῇ καὶ ἦλθον εἰς Χεβρων τοῦ βασιλεῦσαι τὸν Δαυιδ ἐπὶ πάντα Ισραηλ· καὶ ὁ κατάλοιπος Ισραηλ ψυχὴ μία τοῦ βασιλεῦσαι τὸν Δαυιδ. |
All these [were] men of war setting [the army] in battle array with a peaceful mind [towards him] and they came to Chebron to make David king over all Israel: and the rest of Israel [were of] one mind to make David king. | |
| 39 | καὶ ἦσαν ἐκεῖ ἡμέρας τρεῖς ἐσθίοντες καὶ πίνοντες, ὅτι ἡτοίμασαν αὐτοῖς οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτῶν. |
And they were there three days eating and drinking for their brethren [had] made preparations. | |
| 40 | καὶ οἱ ὁμοροῦντες αὐτοῖς ἔως Ισσαχαρ καὶ Ζαβουλων καὶ Νεφθαλι ἔφερον αὐτοῖς ἐπὶ τῶν ὄνων καὶ τῶν ἡμιόνων καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν μόσχων βρώματα, ἄλευρα, παλάθας, σταφίδας, οῖωον καὶ ἔλαιον, μόσχους καὶ πρόβατα εἰς πλῆθος, ὅτι εὐφροσὐν ἐν Ισραηλ. |
And their neighbours as far as Issachar and Zabulon and Nephthali brought to them upon camels and asses and mules | |
