1Καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Τωβιτ Τωβιαν τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Ὅρα, τέκνον, μισθὸν τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ τῷ συνελθόντι σοι, καὶ προσθεῖναι αὐτῷ δεῖ. Tobit then called his son Tobias and said to him, "My son, see to the wages of the man who went with you; and he must also be given more." The angel Raphael. Tob.12.1-22
2καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Πάτερ, οὐ βλάπτομαι δοὺς αὐτῷ τὸ ἥμισυ ὧν ἐνήνοχα, He replied, "Father, it would do me no harm to give him half of what I have brought back.  
3ὅτι με ἀγείοχέν σοι ὑγιῆ καὶ τὴν γυναῖκά μου ἐθεράπευσεν καὶ τὸ ἀργύριόν μου ἤνεγκεν καὶ σὲ ὁμοίως ἐθεράπευσεν. For he has led me back to you safely, he cured my wife, he obtained the money for me, and he also healed you."  
4καὶ εἶπεν ὁ πρεσβύτης Δικαιοῦται αὐτῷ. The old man said, "He deserves it."  
5καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸν ἄγγελον καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Λαβὲ τὸ ἥμισυ πάντων, ὧν ἐνηνόχατε. So he called the angel and said to him, "Take half of all that you two have brought back."  
6Τότε καλέσας τοὺς δύο κρυπτῶς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Εὐλογεῖτε τὸν θεὸν καὶ αὐτῷ ἐξομολογεῖσθε, μεγαλωσύνην δίδοτε αὐτῷ καὶ ἐξομολογεῖσθε ἐνώπιον πάντων τῶν ζώντων περὶ ὧν ἐποίησεν μεθ' ὑμῶν· ἀγαθὸν τὸ εὐλογεῖν τὸν θεὸν καὶ ὑψοῦν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ, τοὺς λόγους τῶν ἔργων τοῦ θεοῦ ἐντίμως ὑποδεικνύοντες, καὶ μὴ ὀκνεῖτε ἐξομολογεῖσθαι αὐτῷ. Then the angel called the two of them privately and said to them:

"Praise God and give thanks to him; exalt him and give thanks to him in the presence of all the living for what he has done for you. It is good to praise God and to exalt his name, worthily declaring the works of God. Do not be slow to give him thanks.

 
7μυστήριον βασιλέως καλὸν κρύψαι, τὰ δὲ ἔργα τοῦ θεοῦ ἀνακαλύπτειν ἐνδόξως. ἀγαθὸν ποιήσατε, καὶ κακὸν οὐχ εὑρήσει ὑμᾶς. It is good to guard the secret of a king, but gloriously to reveal the works of God. Do good, and evil will not overtake you.  
8ἀγαθὸν προσευχὴ μετὰ νηστείας καὶ ἐλεημοσύνης καὶ δικαιοσύνης· ἀγαθὸν τὸ ὀλίγον μετὰ δικαιοσύνης ἢ πολὺ μετὰ ἀδικίας· καλὸν ποιῆσαι ἐλεημοσύνην ἢ θησαυρίσαι χρυσίον. Prayer is good when accompanied by fasting, almsgiving, and righteousness. A little with righteousness is better than much with wrongdoing. It is better to give alms than to treasure up gold.  
9ἐλεημοσύνη γὰρ ἐκ θανάτου ῥύεται, καὶ αὐτὴ ἀποκαθαριεῖ πᾶσαν ἁμαρτίαν· οἱ ποιοῦντες ἐλεημοσύνας καὶ δικαιοσύνας πλησθήσονται ζωῆς· For almsgiving delivers from death, and it will purge away every sin. Those who perform deeds of charity and of righteousness will have fulness of life;  
10οἱ δὲ ἁμαρτάνοντες πολέμιοί εἰσιν τῆς ἑαυτῶν ζωῆς. but those who commit sin are the enemies of their own lives.  
11οὐ μὴ κρύψω ἀφ' ὑμῶν πᾶν ῥῆμα· εἴρηκα δή Μυστήριον βασιλέως κρύψαι καλόν, τὰ δὲ ἔργα τοῦ θεοῦ ἀνακαλύπτειν ἐνδόξως. "I will not conceal anything from you. I have said, `It is good to guard the secret of a king, but gloriously to reveal the works of God.'  
12καὶ νῦν ὅτε προσηύξω σὺ καὶ ἡ νύμφη σου Σαρρα, ἐγὼ προσήγαγον τὸ μνημόσυνον τῆς προσευχῆς ὑμῶν ἐνώπιον τοῦ ἁγίου· καὶ ὅτε ἔθαπτες τοὺς νεκρούς, ὡσαύτως συμπαρήμην σοι. And so, when you and your daughter-in-law Sarah prayed, I brought a reminder of your prayer before the Holy One; and when you buried the dead, I was likewise present with you.  
13καὶ ὅτε οὐκ ὤκνησας ἀναστῆναι καὶ καταλιπεῖν τὸ ἄριστόν σου, ὅπως ἀπελθὼν περιστείλῃς τὸν νεκρόν, οὐκ ἔλαθές με ἀγαθοποιῶν, ἀλλὰ σὺν σοὶ ἤμην. When you did not hesitate to rise and leave your dinner in order to go and lay out the dead, your good deed was not hidden from me, but I was with you.  
14καὶ νῦν ἀπέστειλέν με ὁ θεὸς ἰάσασθαί σε καὶ τὴν νύμφην σου Σαρραν. So now God sent me to heal you and your daughter-in-law Sarah.  
15ἐγώ εἰμι Ραφαηλ, εἷς ἐκ τῶν ἑπτὰ ἁγίων ἀγγέλων, οἳ προσαναφέρουσιν τὰς προσευχὰς τῶν ἁγίων καὶ εἰσπορεύονται ἐνώπιον τῆς δόξης τοῦ ἁγίου. I am Raphael, one of the seven holy angels who present the prayers of the saints and enter into the presence of the glory of the Holy One."  
16Καὶ ἐταράχθησαν οἱ δύο καὶ ἔπεσον ἐπὶ πρόσωπον, ὅτι ἐφοβήθησαν. They were both alarmed; and they fell upon their faces, for they were afraid.  
17καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Μὴ φοβεῖσθε, εἰρήνη ὑμῖν ἔσται· τὸν δὲ θεὸν εὐλογεῖτε εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα. But he said to them, "Do not be afraid; you will be safe. But praise God for ever.  
18ὅτι οὐ τῇ ἐμαυτοῦ χάριτι, ἀλλὰ τῇ θελήσει τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἦλθον· ὅθεν εὐλογεῖτε αὐτὸν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα. For I did not come as a favour on my part, but by the will of our God. Therefore praise him for ever.  
19πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ὠπτανόμην ὑμῖν, καὶ οὐκ ἔφαγον οὐδὲ ἔπιον, ἀλλὰ ὅρασιν ὑμεῖς ἐθεωρεῖτε. All these days I merely appeared to you and did not eat or drink, but you were seeing a vision.  
20καὶ νῦν ἐξομολογεῖσθε τῷ θεῷ, διότι ἀναβαίνω πρὸς τὸν ἀποστείλαντά με, καὶ γράψατε πάντα τὰ συντελεσθέντα εἰς βιβλίον. And now give thanks to God, for I am ascending to him who sent me. Write in a book everything that has happened."  
21καὶ ἀνέστησαν· καὶ οὐκέτι εἶδον αὐτόν. Then they stood up; but they saw him no more.  
22καὶ ἐξωμολογοῦντο τὰ ἔργα τὰ μεγάλα καὶ θαυμαστὰ τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ὡς ὤφθη αὐτοῖς ὁ ἄγγελος κυρίου. So they confessed the great and wonderful works of God, and acknowledged that the angel of the Lord had appeared to them.

Notes:

The Old Testament in Greek is Rahlf's LXX available in Word format at the Tyndale website, adapted to database format.
The alternative readings of the LXX - Judges (Alexandrinus), Daniel, Susanna & Bel (LXX received text), and Tobit (Sinaiticus [not printed in Swete]) as separate book references so that they can be viewed as an alternative text in parallel with the primary text.
(I have reversed the Swete presentation for Daniel, Susanna, Bel by listing in the later Theodotion LXX text as the main text. )
The LXX cross references to the Hebrew Bible have been extensively revised using those set out in Swete's 'Old Testament in Greek' publications between 1894 and 1909, amended in part to agree with verses as printed in the Biblia Hebraica (1937 publication).
Some verse cross references in Swete's had to be amended to agree with the BHS verse numbering, and there may well be some mismatches that I haven't yet picked up on. (If you find any errors please e-mail me.)
Hebrew Bible has been adapted from the BHS in Word format at Tyndale.
The Septuagint in English ( translated by Sir Lancelot CL Brenton) - is used here only for the books of the Hebrew Bible.
The Revised Standard Version: This generally follows the Hebrew Bible for the canonical OT so I have included the RSV Aprocrypha for the Greek books not covered by Brenton.
Ecclesiasticus - Sirach Chs.30-36: The text of these chapters from 30.24 to 36.16, is disordered.
I have followed Swete's verse numbering for the greek text.
Also, the RSV verse numbering differs from the NRSV.
The NRSV appears to have followed Swete's numbering here, so I have re-ordered the RSV to agree with both the NRSV & Swete for these chapters.
