Wind instruments with tube open both ends
 Palestrina-Missa Papae Marcelli LISTEN to Empire Brass play a Canzon in echo for 12 parts by Gabrieli.  Music Details HERE. 
       (c1600, Venice.  Gabrieli's band used cornetts & trombones.)
with slide: Trombone.  Trombones pitched in B flat & F are generally preferred today.
 
valveless trumpets: Cornett.
 

with pistons: Trumpet.  Pitch: B flat, C or D/E flat.

 
with pistons: horn.  The double horn's extra valve enables the player to change the pitch from F to B flat.
