CHINNERETH - A city of Naphtali (Dt.3.17, Jos.11.2 [in latter Chinneroth] 19.35, 1 K.15.20 [in latter Chinneroth; AV Cinneroth], which gave its name to the Sea of Chinnereth (Nu.34.11, Jos.12.3 [in latter Chinneroth] 13.27), the OT designation of the Sea of Galilee; modern Tell el-'Oreimeh.
