APOLLONIA (Ac.17.1).?Paul and Silas passed through this town on the way from Amphipolis to Thessalonica. It was on the important Egnatian road which ran between Dyrrhachium (modern Durazo) and Thessalonica. It was about half-way between Amphipolis and Thessalonica, and lay between the rivers Axius and Strymon.
